Job Description:

Job Disclosures:

Project-Based Role: This is a project-based role with an anticipated duration of 12+ months.

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $94,187 to $105,960.  Compensation is based on location and experience.  

Job Summary:

The Flex Art Creative Producer is responsible for managing Meow Wolf’s collaborating artist projects from concept through installation, spanning the Exhibition project life cycle. The Flex Art Creative Producer will manage the scope, schedule, and budget of the collaborating artist projects, reporting to the Sr. Manager, Flex Art Creative Production and functionally to the Executive Creative Producer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall scope, budget, and timeline for collaborating artists' projects.

  • Schedule and drive all required meetings between artists and stakeholders.

  • Track, review, and secure internal approval for all artist milestone deliverables through design, fabrication, and installation phases.

  • Review artists’ project estimates with department stakeholders and the Flex team.

  • Manage collaborating artist contracts; process invoices for timely payment and submit contract change orders as needed; track completion of contracts; close contracts with artists.

  • Guide each artist and their installation team through installation with coordination, onsite aid, and onsite management. 

  • Work closely with Production Designers, Technical Directors, Creative Directors, Artist Liaison, Sr. Manager of Flex Creative Production, and other stakeholders. 

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in creative enterprises, as well as experience in location-based/themed entertainment

  • Experience shepherding high-budget multimedia projections from ideation to completion

  • Understanding of location-based/themed entertainment industries and their production pipelines

  • Knowledge of the creative process and deliverables

  • Experience on active construction sites is a plus

  • Excellent interpersonal skills centered around empathy, respect, and kindness

  • Generative creative problem-solving

  • Highly organized and fastidious while maintaining adaptability

  • Clear and concise communication

  • Excellent collaboration skills that can successfully work across multiple departments and divisions

Work Environment and Physical Demands 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.  

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners. This position also works in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines and small and/ or enclosed spaces.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical ability to walk, stand, take stairs/slides/elevators, and navigate the elements during the day and night. Employee may be required to remain in a sitting or standing position for prolonged periods, and repeat motions that may  include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to lift up to 15lbs pounds at times.

The employee will comply with company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work a flexible schedule. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

This position does not require supervisory responsibility.

Travel 

This position will require minimal travel (<10%)
