Who Are We?     

Toro’s Irrigation and Lighting business is located in Riverside, CA. The Toro Company’s irrigation business is comprised of two distinct brands, Toro® and Irritrol®. Both brands offer a full line of solid, dependable, irrigation products including controllers, sensors, valves, spray heads and rotors to help customers care for golf courses, sports fields, public green spaces, commercial and residential properties. Unique Lighting Systems is a leading brand of professional grade lighting fixtures, low voltage transformers, LED lamps and the patented HUB system for installation. Serving both residential and commercial markets, Unique Lighting Systems offers a full line of outdoor lighting products. 

What Will You Do?  

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:  

  • Someone able to design firmware in C/C++;

  • Have extensive experience designing firmware for real-time embedded systems

  • Have an understanding of structured programming techniques;

  • Have experience with Microchip, NXP and ARM microcontrollers (familiarity with other 8,16 and 32 bit microprocessors and or microcontrollers, such as ST, TI, Toshiba and Renesas would be beneficial);

  • Have experience with communication protocols such as Ethernet (TCP/IP), WiFi, Bluetooth, and USB for connected, IoT products;

  • Knowledge with MQTT and IoT Hub a plus;

  • Are proficient with engineering tools, such as oscilloscope, logic analyzers and power/signal generators; and

  • Communicates easily at the technical and non-technical level.

What Do You Need?  

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:  

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronic or computer science engineering with at least three years firmware design experience in the consumer or industrial electronics industry

  • Good understanding of principles; as well as, Microsoft Office Suite and technical documentation.

  • Of particular interest are candidates with an understanding of data communication techniques via radio, cellular or wireless.

  • Level II--4+ years of experience with firmware design experience in the consumer or industrial electronics industry; dexterous understanding of principles; 

  • Level IV-Level III--7+ years of experience with firmware design experience in the consumer or industrial electronics industry; dexterous understanding of principles.

Competitive Salary – The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between ​$115763 - ​$130000. Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package. You may be eligible to participate in an incentive program, which rewards employees based on individual and organizational performance. Eligibility and award amounts are determined by company policy and performance metrics. If you need to, you can access your pay early with the One@Work app, formerly the Even app.
