JOB DESCRIPTION

The Financial System Specialist provides subject matter expertise for the firm’s financial applications.  This role assists with day-to-day user issues, process improvements, custom reporting, monitoring and ensuring data integrity, new implementations, and upgrades.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Support Aderant applications (Expert AP, Expert Billing, etc.), and other integrated systems (Chrome River, Intapp Time, etc) from a Finance perspective – making sure the systems have the necessary fields with the rules required to keep the data clean and reportable.
  • Identify issues, make corrections to processes or data as needed, open support tickets and follow through to resolution.
  • Customize applications as needed. Customizations range from modifying a field in Design Studio to collaborating with vendors to design, test, and implement new functionality to personally developing new tables, stored procedures, and workflows.
  • Lead requirements gathering, create testing plans, and create end-user documentation for new implementations and upgrades.
  • Create custom SQL-based reports for Finance and other members of the firm.
  • Use systems knowledge to assist with creation of new workflows to ensure accuracy of firm reporting, and client billing/reporting.
  • Assist with master data maintenance as required for clean, accurate and efficient reporting.
  • Provide end user support, training, and documentation.

SKILLS NEEDED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Advanced SQL skills.
  • Thorough understanding of financial workflows and systems (preferably Aderant Expert).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills for prioritizing workload.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively to solve problems and accomplish goals.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required: 

  • 5+ years of financial systems experience required.
  • Previous financial system software experience. 

Preferred: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Accounting/Finance.

The salary range for this position in Century City, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, Silicon Valley (Palo Alto), and Washington, D.C. is $95,000 – $125,000 and represents the firm’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will be dependent on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's experience, education, relevant certifications, geographic location, market demands, and specific business needs. Generally, candidates are considered for the higher end of the salary range when they bring the requisite level of experience and expertise to the role.
