Montcure, LLC is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) founded with a vision to revolutionize consulting and advisory services through innovative, data-driven solutions. The Montcure team recognizes the unique challenges faced by organizations and governments in today's rapidly evolving business environment.

About the Role

Montcure, LLC is hiring a Financial Management Audit Support Manager to manage audit support workstreams for a U.S. Navy / DoW financial management organization. You will help the Government respond to Independent Public Accountant (IPA) substantive testing by managing the teams that prepare populations, key supporting documentation (KSD), reconciliations, and data analytics.

You will manage one or more key areas that may include Balance Sheet line items such as General PP&E and Inventory, Expense and Revenue (Procure to Pay and Order to Cash), and beginning balances. You will apply your understanding of how these balances affect the financial statements to plan audit support, review team work, and coordinate daily with Government counterparts.

What You'll Do

  • Manage day-to-day audit support for assigned key areas, including work planning, task assignment, and status tracking against IPA and Government deadlines.
  • Translate IPA test plans, sample selections, and test attributes into team work plans, KSD request lists, and support packages.
  • Review KSD packages prepared by Seniors for sufficiency against test attributes (e.g., existence, completeness, accuracy, valuation, cutoff) before submission to the Government and IPA.
  • Oversee population preparation and completeness checks, including reconciliation of populations to the Trial Balance and financial statement line items.
  • Oversee Procure to Pay and Order to Cash transaction support, and beginning balance testing support, including alternative procedures where original documentation is limited.
  • Review account and subledger-to-general ledger reconciliations and variance research, and resolve open items with Government counterparts.
  • Direct data analytics that identify anomalies, duplicates, aged items, and unsupported transactions, and explain their impact on account balances.
  • Analyze exceptions and their root causes, and help the Government draft Notice of Finding and Recommendation (NFR) responses and corrective action plans (CAPs).
  • Coordinate with Government points of contact at the GS-13 to GS-15 level, and prepare status briefings for leadership.
  • Supervise, mentor, and review the work of Seniors and analysts, and maintain desk guides, templates, and SOPs.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited United States college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a field of study relevant to the role. An additional two (2) years of relevant experience may substitute for the minimum education requirement.

Experience

  • 9+ years of relevant experience in Federal financial management, accounting, or audit readiness.
  • Strong understanding of how transactions and account balances flow through the USSGL to the Balance Sheet, Statement of Net Cost, and Statement of Budgetary Resources.
  • Demonstrated experience managing management-side support for financial statement audits, including KSD reviews, PBC responses, and NFR responses.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting substantive audit testing in two or more key areas: General PP&E, Inventory, Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, or beginning balances.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing reconciliations and data analytics, and resolving variances.
  • Experience supervising and reviewing the work of analysts.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of Navy ERP and related systems (e.g., WAWF/PIEE, G-Invoicing, DDRS).
  • Proficiency with Advana/Jupiter data and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, or BI tools).
  • Strong leadership, analytical, written, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Navy FMO/FMS or major Navy commands on audit readiness.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CDFM, CGFM, PMP).

Status: Contingent – this contract is contingent upon award.

Salary: $90,000 - $110,000

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
