About Persona

Persona is the configurable identity platform built for businesses in a digital-first world. Verifying individuals and organizations is harder — but more important — than ever, with AI enabling fraudsters to launch sophisticated accounts at scale and regulations evolving rapidly.

We’ve built Persona to support practically every use case and industry — that’s why we’re able to serve a wide range of leading companies. For example, Reddit relies on Persona for age assurance and verification to comply with online safety regulations, protecting younger users while maintaining a seamless experience. Meanwhile, OpenAI relies on Persona to keep bad actors out, protecting one of the world’s most powerful AI platforms from large-scale abuse in a time when AI is reshaping the way we work and live.

We’re growing rapidly and looking for exceptional people to join us!

About the role

We’re looking for a technical, resourceful, and strategic individual to join Persona’s growing Finance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of finance and Go To Market, working directly with the rest of the finance team, as well as Sales and Post-Sales leadership to build, manage, update, and explain our compensation structures internally. The data you work with will be sensitive and important to shaping the right incentives to fuel Persona’s next stage of growth, so good judgment paired with accurate and responsible data management is essential. This is a high-trust role sitting at the intersection of Finance and GTM, reporting directly to the VP of Finance.

Persona has offices in San Francisco and New York City, but this role is also open to remote candidates based in the United States or Canada on a case by case basis.

What you'll do at Persona

  • Design, build, and maintain incentive pay models for Sales and Post-Sales teams, tracking performance against plans and ensuring data accuracy, timely updates, and clean documentation throughout.

  • Own recurring comp review cycles end-to-end — validating data integrity, calculating attainment, and ensuring payouts go out accurately and on time.

  • Coordinate with and manage our external comp consultant to keep systems configured correctly, data in sync, and deliverables on track.

  • Serve as the go-to for inbound questions about pay, attainment, and plan mechanics from the team — triaging promptly, troubleshooting discrepancies, and supporting leadership with ad-hoc analysis as plan needs evolve.

  • Oversee project timelines and deliverables for external partners to ensure smooth execution.

What you'll bring to Persona

  • 1-6 years of experience in finance, operations, accounting, or a related analytical role.

  • High proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets — able to build complex models, work with messy data, and structure scalable, auditable systems.

  • Detail-oriented and accurate — you catch things, you double-check, and you don't let things slip.

  • Strong judgment and discretion when handling sensitive compensation data; able to field questions from the field calmly and professionally.

  • An innate interest in the 'Personerd' side of things — you like to understand how our product works and what problems we solve for our customers.

Compensation & Equity

$80,000 – $130,000

This salary range is the estimated base salary range. Base salaries are just one component of the total compensation package and are determined by a number of factors such as years of experience, expertise, qualifications and more. In addition to base salary, we offer competitive equity packages that play a big part in recognizing you for the huge impact you will have on helping us achieve our mission. Please note, the salary range is a guideline that is subject to change without notice.

Full-time Employee Benefits and Perks

For full-time employees (excluding international, internship, and contractor opportunities), Persona offers a wide range of benefits, including medical, dental, and vision, 3% 401(k) contribution, unlimited PTO, quarterly mental health days, family planning benefits, professional development stipend, wellness benefits, among others. While we believe competitive compensation and benefits are a critical aspect of you deciding to join us, we do hope you consider why our core values and culture are right for you. What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
