We are seeking a Financial Analyst for Residuals to be a key member of our Contingent Compensation and Residuals team. Residuals are additional compensation paid to talent for the reuse of content beyond the use covered by their initial compensation, based on collective bargaining agreements with various guilds/unions, e.g., SAG-AFTRA, DGA, and WGA.
In this role, your key responsibilities will be to interpret and analyze the residual impact of various guilds, unions, and production service agreements, and to execute accordingly. This includes calculating, preparing, and processing residual payments, preparing and managing financial forecasts of residual obligations, and working closely with cross-functional teams such as Labor, Production Finance, and Business Affairs to determine the residual impact across various titles.

Responsibilities
Analyze and interpret production, distribution, and legal contracts/deal terms for residual liability and financial impact.
Forecast, set up, pay, and report residual liabilities in accordance with contractual terms.
Forecast and assist in accruing obligations.
Liaise with Production Accountants and Producers to gather required information for residual setups.
Contribute to financial analyses to evaluate the impact of residuals on the business, including scenario planning and assessing new deal terms.
Work closely with third-party payment processors to provide detailed setup data, ensuring complete and accurate residual payment setups.
Participate in initiatives to innovate and enhance processes, including testing and implementing new residual systems for improved automation, workflow efficiency, and standardization.
Collect necessary documentation and interface with auditors to provide support for guild and internal audits.
Lead and assist in complex projects, ensuring thorough analysis and execution.
Qualifications
BA/BS in accounting, finance, business administration, or similar degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2+ years of related experience required, preferably in residuals. Experience with new media residuals is a plus.
Entertainment industry experience preferred.
Strong financial analysis and modeling skills, with the ability to problem-solve effectively.
Excellent Excel & Google web-based program skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
Must be able to comprehend and interpret collective bargaining agreements.
Highly motivated, analytical, proactive, organized, and self-sufficient.
Capable of planning and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Must be able to work independently and cross-functionally with business partners.
Flexible and adaptable to evolving processes in a fast-paced environment.
Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $50,000 - $240,000.
