Job Description

F&G is hiring for a Financial Analyst - Investments FP&A. This role is a unique hybrid position that combines technical expertise in data systems and analytics with investment modeling and FP&A capabilities. The ideal candidate will excel at ensuring data integrity across platforms, building sophisticated financial models, and assisting with translating financial results into compelling narratives for senior leadership.

Organization

The Investments FP&A function sits within the Investment Strategy department at F&G. The Financial Analyst - Investments FP&A reports to the Manager, Investments FP&A and will have no direct reports. This position will work with several teams throughout the company, including but not limited to Corporate FP&A, Financial Reporting, Investment Accounting, IT, and Risk.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize data warehouses to extract, validate, and consolidate investment and financial data from multiple sources
  • Design, maintain, and continuously improve Tableau dashboards that provide portfolio performance, investment metrics, and FP&A results
  • Conduct regular data quality audits to identify and resolve discrepancies across reporting databases
  • Document data processes, transformation logic, and system dependices to support knowledge transfer and audit requirements
  • Help develop and maintain comprehensive financial models for cash flows, fixed income, and private investments
  • Help develop and monitor portfolio performance tracking framework across asset class and prepare variance analysis against benchmarks, investment policy targets, and strategic objectives
  • Support investment decision-making by conducting sensitivity analysis and what-if scenarios
  • Collaborate with investments, actuarial, FP&A, and Blackstone to gather data, validate assumptions, and ensure forecast model accuracy
  • Support investments multi-year plan and reforecasts vs. actual analysis
  • Contribute to and assist with preparation of ad-hoc investment forecasting needs and strategic analysis requests

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems or related field
  • 2+ years of related professional experience with a strong emphasis on:
    • Data systems and analytics (Tableau, SQL/Snowflake, VBA, Power Query, Clearwater)
    • Public fixed income and private investment modeling
    • FP&A and/or financial reporting
  • CFA designation or MBA is beneficial

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Technical Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Power Query, VBA, and Python
  • Tableau expertise for dashboard development, data visualization, and interactive analytics
  • Advanced SQL/Snowflake proficiency for querying databases, data manipulation, and automated reporting
  • Understanding of fixed income analytics and private investment structures preferred
  • Knowledge of annuity and life insurance products preferred

  • Proactive problem-solver and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong intuitive and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to translate complex technical and financial concepts into clear and compelling narratives
  • A passion for new challenges and delivering results
  • Ability to handle multiple complex tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
