Job Summary:

The Financial Analyst, Accounting is responsible for supporting the Company’s accounting and financial reporting activities through financial analysis, account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end and quarter-end close processes. This role works closely with Accounting, Finance, and cross-functional teams to help ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information, investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, maintain appropriate financial controls, and provide analysis to support business and reporting requirements.

Please note this is a fully on-site position based in Irvine, CA. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
  • Analyze general ledger accounts, financial results, and transactions to identify trends, variances, errors, and required adjustments.
  • Prepare financial analyses, reports, and schedules to support internal management reporting, external financial reporting, and other business requirements.
  • Research and assist in resolving accounting discrepancies and transactions in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Company accounting policies, escalating more complex matters as appropriate.
  • Partner with Accounting, Finance, and cross-functional business teams to obtain supporting information, resolve issues, and help ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial data.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by preparing schedules, documentation, reconciliations, and responses to auditor requests.
  • Maintain appropriate accounting documentation and support compliance with internal controls, Company policies, and applicable SOX requirements.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, controls, and data accuracy.
  • Provide financial and accounting support for special projects, ad hoc analyses, and other business initiatives as needed.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as requested.

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience: 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of accounting, financial analysis, or related experience; relevant internship or professional accounting experience may be considered.

  • Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and U.S. GAAP.

  • Experience with or exposure to month-end and quarter-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with or ability to learn ERP and financial reporting systems.

  • Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and communicate findings effectively.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners.

  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work both independently and collaboratively with appropriate guidance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a publicly traded company and/or SOX-controlled environment.

  • Experience with Oracle or another large-scale ERP system.

  • Experience within the medical device, healthcare, manufacturing, or other regulated industry.

  • Progress toward a CPA or other relevant professional certification is preferred.

 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

Compensation:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 plus benefits.  Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience. 

This position also qualifies for up to 10% annual bonus based on Company, department, and individual performance.

Physical requirements/Work Environment 

This position primarily works in an office environment and requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking. Daily use of a computer and other digital devices is required. This role may require standing for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking through facilities.
