PAY RANGE
The Target Pay Range for this position is $85,800.00-$104,800.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $66,600.00 - $124,300.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.BENEFITS

Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, or SC. If you’re located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE
As a Financial Accountant II, you’ll be the trusted expert ensuring our financial records are accurate, timely, and aligned with industry standards. You'll own key processes like general ledger accounting, loan allowance, and member transaction reconciliations—while also diving into projects that enhance our financial systems and workflows. Your work will directly influence how we serve our members by supporting better, faster decision-making. WHAT YOU’LL DO
Lead Key Reconciliations: Manage reconciliations across balance sheet accounts, with a focus on member transactions, loan and share activity, loan allowance and project-related accounting.
Support Journal Entries and Month-End Close: Prepare accurate, timely daily and month-end journal entries tied to various systems and transactions. Perform trend analysis and provide clear commentary for leadership.
Enhance Financial Accuracy: Monitor and ensure the integrity of accounting data—verifying completeness, proper classification, and supporting documentation.
Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with departments across the Credit Union to resolve issues, share accounting insights, and support strategic decisions with detailed analysis.
Champion Projects and Process Improvements: Contribute to ongoing software upgrades and system enhancements. Test new tools, recommend improvements, and help optimize accounting workflows.
Support Compliance and Reporting: Prepare financial reports and schedules for audits and regulatory filings, ensuring adherence to guidelines. Create ad hoc reports as needed.
Document and Share Knowledge: Maintain clear, updated documentation for all key processes to support team knowledge sharing and business continuity.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field OR equivalent experience
Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience
Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Full-time availability, with flexibility for additional hours as needed
Desired Qualifications
CPA license
Experience in a credit union or financial institution
Prior involvement in accounting system upgrades or ERP transitions
Strong Excel and data analysis skills
Background in process improvement or systems testing
