The company is currently focused on our financing product but also working on developing other innovative technology and financial solutions for agriculture producers.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a company built around the value of advancing cash flow for our customers the accounting department is not only a finance function but really the core on which the business relies to operate. This will not be your typical accounting job. You will be a key part of our product and operations.

As Produce Pay’s Staff Accountant you will be an integral part of our finance team working alongside the Assistant Controller and Controller. This position is ideal for someone who is ambitious, hardworking, enjoys problem-solving, and who isn’t afraid to roll up his/her sleeves and get into the details. Most importantly, you will see your insights have an immediate, tangible impact every day in a well-funded and rapidly growing company.

Our ideal candidate is an experienced staff accountant coming from a banking or lending background that is looking to make the transition to a FinTech start up! If the below sounds even mildly entertaining to you, you could be the perfect fit for the job!

• Preparing journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the month-end close process.
• Maintaining all month-end close schedules, including fixed assets and depreciation, accrued expenses, prepaid expenses, software capitalization and stock-based compensation.
• Reviewing monthly A/P expense reports and credit card reconciliations, including verifying the accuracy of coding.
• Working directly with the Assistant Controller to consolidate and produce accurate and timely financial statements on a monthly basis.
• Providing support for the Company’s external audits and tax preparation.
• Assisting with the continuous improvement of processes.
• Assisting with special projects and ad-hoc requests, as necessary.
• And, of course, being an asset to the greatest accounting team :)

Requirements

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Banking, Lending or Customer Financing Experience (Highly preferred)
• Prior startup experience (preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 2-3 years of relevant work experience
• Extremely detail oriented; critical thinker
• Goal-driven, focused, independent worker, and “can-do” attitude
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
