Ring is hiring a full time Sr. Payroll Specialist to own a critical role in our headquarters in Santa Monica. The Sr. Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing and maintaining our payroll needs across our US offices (and in the future - globally). The ideal candidate must possess solid experience and a hunger to dive deep in the trenches and get their hands dirty. This person must be efficient and keen on hitting deadlines with extraordinary time management skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full-cycle Payroll administration in a timely, efficient manner for both biweekly and semimonthly concurrent pay periods 
  • Administer and ensure proper setup to PEO system for new hires 
  • Facilitate on-boarding tasks for new hires in our PEO (TriNet), i.e. setting up profile,
  • ensuring I-9 and direct deposit input completion
  • Ensure all payroll transactions are within compliance of appropriate policies and procedures
  • Routinely report on internal Payroll processes to the Human Resources, Finance and Executive team 
  • Strategically partner with Finance and HR to resolve issues relating to payroll
  • Research and interpret payroll transactions to resolve discrepancies 
  • Process off-cycle checks, as necessary, for terminations and bonuses 
  • Conduct year-end data aggregation and validation for W-2s, including allocated non-cash earning, fringe benefits and other adjustments along with related required reporting
  • Ensure payroll function is compliant with all legal and institutional requirements
  • Review and maintain time sheet submissions, support managers in getting them completed in time each pay period
  • Think out of the box on how to streamline and integrate multiple systems
  • Be a key player in the process of bringing payroll in-house

Qualifications

  • 5+ years Payroll experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independent
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Payroll or PEO systems 
  • Strong knowledge of both State and Federal laws pertaining to Payroll and Benefits 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel skills 
  • Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills 
  • Ability to maintain composure and efficiency while working under tight deadlines 
  • Be a team player who is willing to step in when needed 
  • Exceptional skills handling financial and numeric data

Preferred

  • Experience managing payroll through TriNet
  • Experience bringing and managing payroll in-house
  • Experience with compensation analysis and equity bands
