Position Description

The Senior Billing Operations Analyst is a data specialist for the billing and reporting processes for EVgo external clients/partners. The primary responsibility of this role is to facilitate the delivery of accurate billing to EVgo partners; audit and develop solutions for any billing discrepancies. You are a close liaison to cross-functional teams, e.g., IT, Accounting, Legal, and Procurement ensuring the effectiveness, accuracy of billing documents. The Senior Billing Analyst conducts research, decisions critical, complex billing matters and resolves inquiries from vendors and partners. You must enjoy working in an evolving and dynamic startup environment. The successful candidate will be an active participant in continuous billing process improvement and systems innovations partnering with IT to enhance client/partner billing processes and monitor all practices in the work stream.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather data from various database tools to perform detailed analysis, create pivot tables and graphs and prepare daily, monthly, quarterly or annual spreadsheets and other documents required for reporting, analysis, documentation.
  • Provide operational support of EVgo client and partner processes by tracking and executing energy usage reimbursement and true up calculations according to contractual terms.
  • Proactively investigate payment and billing issues and recommend solutions for billing and operational efficiencies affecting the customer and partner experience.
  • Investigate and resolve data issues across platforms and applications, including discrepancies of definition, format and function.
  • Ability to explain calculations verbally to internal teams and external clients/partners.
  • Assist with account reconciliations and invoicing reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on reporting requests.
  • Review and interpret terms and conditions of contracts and be able to confirm validity and accuracy of associated billing.
  • Mapping, building, supporting, and updating team-specific solutions, processes, reporting, and supporting documentation.
  • Adheres to and promotes the use of data administration standards.
  • Supports data selection, extraction, and cleansing for corporate applications, including data warehouse and data marts.
  • Creates and sustains processes, tools, and on-going support of structures and processes.
  • Produces and populates meta-data into repositories.
  • Ability to create data flow diagrams and process models and integrates models across functional areas and platforms.
  • Capable of employing data mining techniques to achieve data synchronization, redundancy elimination, source identification, data reconciliation, and problem root cause analysis.
  • Quality control and auditing of databases, resolving data problems, and analyzing system changes for quality assurance.
  • Special projects and duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in reporting and/or billing analysis role. Within the electric vehicle or energy industry a plus.
  • Proven accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
  • Superior Microsoft Excel Skills with ability to perform advanced functions and complex cross referenced calculations, including, but not limited to pivot tables, look up functions, data validations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Access Skills
  • Salesforce reporting and analysis experience a plus.
  • Excellent quantitative and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet quick turnaround times.
  • Expert at team collaboration.
  • Demonstrated success in delivery of multiple projects within strict timelines.
  • Ability to think creatively and learn quickly in a fast-paced and changing environment.
