As a Senior Accounting Manager at ZestFinance, you will work closely with the Director, Accounting and Finance team in support of the accounting and finance routines, and our more strategic objectives. The position has primary responsibility for the core routine accounting functions, processing, and reconciliation of certain ZestFinance subsidiaries.

Successful candidates will have had seven plus years of accounting experience. They must be very detail-oriented and organized, and have the ability to think logically and analytically. Database and Excel super-user capabilities are preferred. The ability to extract information from supporting systems and develop reports suited for management review is also critical to this position.

In this role you will:

  • Conduct General ledger (QuickBooks) research of accounting transactions
  • Assist with month-end close and research month-end variances
  • Handle reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts and related activity
  • Manage accounts payable processing and vendors
  • Maintain the accounting calendar of key dates and deadlines
  • Expense reporting support
  • Assist regulatory filings including franchise tax, property tax, sales and use tax, and 1099 preparation and reporting
  • Strategize and execute on and systems upgrades and implementations as needed
  • Implement sales tax withholding and remittance
  • Support management requests for information and analysis
  • Support cash management

We are looking for:

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, economics or business is required
  • 7+ years of experience
  • Expert level Excel skills; will be looking for candidates who have the ability to manipulate large data-sets
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to think logically and analytically with a strong eye for data quality
  • Track record of excellent customer service
  • QuickBooks experience preferred
  • Willingness to learn new skills and flexibility to take and change direction
