About the Role

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of  journal entries, month end close process, G/L account reconciliations, financial reporting and external audit support. S/He will analyze variances and make recommendations to ensure expense controls and process improvement.

Responsibilities 

• Prepare journal entries for full cycle month-end close process and perform G/L account reconciliations.
• Manage key accrual accounts, analyze revenues, and expenses.
• Assist in the preparation of supporting schedules for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Analyze general expenses and trends; and make recommendations on appropriate levels and ensure expense controls.
• Audit and review high volume transactions; take appropriate actions to address and adjust incorrect transactions.
• Proactively detect, research, and resolve general expense items including review of invoices to ensure proper account coding.
• Work closely with the business partners and FPA team to ensure that expenses are properly captured.
• Review and reconcile prepaid accounts and fixed assets.
• Identify and recommend internal control and general expense process improvements, including full automation and design leveraging new finance platforms.
• Assist in system implementation and testing of new product features.
• Implementation of new accounting guidance.
• All internal and external audits.
• Compliance issues.

Required Skills

• B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant field of study.
• Minimum 5 - 7 year experience, at a company +$200M revenues.
• Ecommerce, retail or consumer products experience is required.
• Intermediate skills with ERP solutions, ideally NetSuite.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP.
• Strong analytical skills, including advanced skills with Excel.
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
