JOANY is seeking a Senior Accountant who will be taking complex healthcare data to develop predictive models and algorithms that will help people all over the US get health insurance they can actually use. 

What You'll Do

• Prepare journal entries complete with necessary supporting documentation and schedules 
• Prepare account reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
• Provide account analysis where necessary to appropriately determine accruals or other estimates to be recorded in the general ledger 
• Assist in performing technical accounting research to determine appropriate treatment for a variety of transactions under US GAAP
• Prepare supporting schedules for use in financial statements and footnote disclosures
• Assist in providing critical financial information to other teammates within and outside of Finance 
• Assist with the annual financial statement audit and working with our external auditors on various accounting issues as needed
• Play a key role in general process documentation and improvements of our accounting policies and procedures
• Perform various projects such as research, analysis & special projects as needed
• Cultivate internal relations at all levels by providing support and a high level of customer service

What You'll Bring

• Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in public accounting or mix of public and private is preferred
• Strong financial analysis skills
• Possess strong knowledge of accounting rules or the ability to perform research to properly interpret and determine the appropriate accounting treatment for common transactions
• Proven ability to present and explain financial data and analysis to both finance and non-finance audiences
• Proficiency in all MS Office applications, especially excel
• Must be inquisitive and able to solve problems creatively
• Exemplary written and oral communications skills required
