Senior Accountant, Revenue
About the Senior Accountant, Revenue at Headspace:
We are looking for a highly motivated, organized and detail oriented Senior Accountant, Revenue. You will fill a critical role on our Revenue Team and be responsible for day-to-day Accounts Receivables and Revenue Operations. The role will regularly monitor revenue and payment reports provided by payment and merchant account processors, and perform complex revenue analysis. The ideal candidate will be system savvy, meticulous, detail oriented, personable, and able to both take direction and take initiative. The position reports directly to the Revenue Accounting Manager with opportunity to grow.
How your skills and passion will come to life at Headspace:
- Manage the Accounts Receivable and Revenue process for Web, affiliate partnerships, and third-party subscription platforms (i.e. Apple-IAP, Google Play, etc.)
- Prepare monthly Cash reconciliations on merchant accounts with foreign currencies
- Prepare monthly Revenue, Accounts Receivable, and Deferred Revenue reconciliations for all subscription platforms
- Prepare monthly entries for multiple revenue streams, platforms, product types, amortization schedules and multiple foreign currencies
- Prepare monthly entries for all merchant processing fees and deferred charges
- Prepare monthly entries for VAT received on Sales
- Provide information for annual audits and help with special projects, as needed
- Prepare reports as needed to reconcile general ledger and collaborate with accounting team
- Analyze and explain month-over-month variances of assigned general ledger accounts
- Identify areas to streamline processes and opportunities for automation
- Maintain continuous lines of communication with the Revenue Accounting Manager on all Revenue and Accounts Receivables related issues

- Ability to understand and quickly learn new accounting software – including general ledger, subscription billing platforms, merchant gateways

Minimum qualifications:
- 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a fast-paced startup environment
- BA/BS in Accounting
- Working knowledge of US GAAP, with a focus on AR and revenue recognition
- Proficient knowledge in Excel
- Multinational currency experience (specifically in the UK/EU)
Preferred qualifications:
- Mix of private and public accounting experience
- Proficient in ERP and billing platform experience
- Experience with NetSuite and Zuora
