GOAT Group is seeking a Payroll Manager who will be responsible for time management, payroll processing, and related activities for a multi-state organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive payroll experience, sound judgment, and a critical eye for detail. The Payroll Manager will work in conjunction with and support the People Operations team through payroll, department projects, and the development of existing and new programs to meet long term growth and goals.


This role will report to the Senior Payroll Manager within the Total Rewards & People Operations team. 

In this role you will:

  • Identify key areas and/or processes that need improvement, documentation, backup, and/or additional support.
  • End to end payroll processing, including quarterly and annual processing.
  • Participate in payroll critical functions with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Serve as subject matter expert regarding legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting payroll, payroll tax and garnishments.
  • Assist in technical and functional support for HRIS payroll related updates, troubleshoots UKG system issues, and promptly responds to user support issues.
  • Support compliance with federal/state/local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Assist with other projects and ad hoc assignments as they arise.

We are looking for:

  • 8+ years of payroll experience.
  • Experience working with a biweekly payroll of 1,000+ employees with a fast-growing hourly workforce.
  • Experience with Ultimate Kronos Group (UKG) for payroll processing, time management, and paid time off policies. 
  • Expert knowledge of payroll best practices and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated HRIS system.
  • Strong customer orientation with excellent verbal and written communication skills to partner and build collaborative working relationships with employees.
  • Keeps current on payroll and taxation policies related to the company, conducts research, compiles information that is readable and accessible.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
