Manager, Strategic Finance and Corporate Development

Overview:

As a member of the Strategic Finance and Corporate Development team at Weedmaps, you'll play a central role in the expansion of the Weedmaps platform. You will take on responsibilities in helping the business units and executive team to develop, monitor and report on key business and financial metrics and various ad hoc analysis to accelerate growth and expansion for the Company as well as supporting the planning and implementation of key strategic initiatives.  Additionally, you will help  identify, evaluate and implement partnership, acquisition and investment opportunities that will provide step-function growth and acceleration for the business. We are seeking a leader who can help scale the Strategic Finance and Corporate Development and team and functions at Weedmaps. 


The impact you'll make:

Strategic Finance

  • Working with the sales leadership team you will play a key role in business reporting, identifying actionable trends and opportunities
  • Develop and report on the revenue and and productivity trends, diving into what is working and what is not within the business.  Provide business updates based on financial analysis with recommendations
  • Partner with sales leadership on go to market planning, resolving execution issues and making investment decisions. Support the forecasting process
  • Work with business units and executive team to develop and monitor monthly, quarterly and annual budgets, analyze key business & financial KPIs, uncover trends and assess current / future business & financial risks and opportunities to drive topline performance
  • Collaborate within Finance on process and reporting improvements, team deliverables and sharing business insights
  • Prepare presentations and key reporting presentations and communications that summarize information concisely for both internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Board of Directors, monthly / quarterly executive meetings)
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses and deep dives into topical issues to support special projects and strategic initiatives

Corporate Development

  • Landscape industries, and source & assess potential partnership or acquisition targets
  • Help advance and evolve our partnership and M&A strategy to inform and guide build/buy/partner decisions across the company
  • Work with Engineering Product & Design teams to identify potential gaps/accelerants in our roadmaps and perform build/partner/buy analysis
  • Assist on deal negotiations, due diligence and integration
  • Develop financial models including valuation models
  • Assist in synthesizing and present recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders and
    Senior Leadership
  • Assist in building company overview presentations and dialogues with the external
    financial community, including potential investors
  • Drive proactive assessments of trends/tech which impact the long-term trajectory of the company

What you've accomplished:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in Strategic Finance at a technology company, Investment Banking, Strategy Consulting, or Private Equity/Venture Capital
  • Strong financial modeling / analytical skills and PowerPoint / Google Sheets proficiency
  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to independently drive projects; motivated to learn all aspects of our business
  • Fully embraces and thrives while working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to be a thought-partner with senior leaders
  • Great communication skills, well organized, strong project management skills, ability to multitask and be a team player
