This position is responsible for various aspects of financial planning and analysis for the Capitol Music Group based in Hollywood, CA. Responsibilities include: Finance team lead for sales forecasting and analysis – both domestic and international; Monthly Release Profitability reporting; Variable Cost forecasting review and analysis; D2C forecasting and analysis.

Job Functions:

  • Manage the domestic sales forecast for New Release titles in conjunction with the Sales team and the Research team
  • Manage the international sales forecast for New Release in conjunction with the International Sales team
  • Manage the D2C revenue and margin forecast, including ticket bundles. Assist the Commercial Services team regarding D2C and ticket bundle pricing and analysis
  • Analyze variances to budget and forecast for domestic income, international income, D2C income and variable costs
  • Coordinate the monthly Corporate Revenue Commentary, as well as the internal CMG Revenue Commentary
  • Prepare the monthly Release Profitability reporting based on Life-to-Date actuals
  • Prepare Life of Project Release Profitability reporting for key projects to assist the Marketing team establish spend caps to maximize projects' profitability
  • Assist in preparing quarterly forecasts and annual budget
  • Maintain and monitor certain forecasting/planning systems, primarily the CMG BPC (excel based) tool
  • Provide ad hoc analyses of artist projects as required

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a finance role
  • Demonstrable proficiency in the use of spreadsheet, accounting and financial applications software; SAP experience/knowledge preferred
  • Music industry experience preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred specific to business, finance or accounting) or equivalent experience
