Junior Accountant

We are currently looking for a motivated and detail-oriented AP Specialist to work in our Los Angeles office. Our ideal candidate for the role is meticulous, personable and able to both take direction and be resourceful. This position reports directly to the Controller and is a temp-to-hire position.

What You'll Do:

• Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports in a timely manner in accordance with the company’s accounts payable and travel and entertainment policies
• Manage the accounts payable cycle from invoice entry to payment including filing
• Ensure proper approvals are obtained and proper coding of invoices prior to entry into the accounting system
• Maintain payable files as well as the master vendor management file in a complete and organized manner
• Ensure payments are made timely according to vendor terms
• Work directly and effectively with vendors to resolve discrepancies and respond to inquiries
• Record a high volume of company credit charges, match with receipts and collect approvals
• Interface with other departments to ensure quick turnaround on invoice approval
• Vendor management, including onboarding of new vendors according to the vendor management policy
• Review accounts payable aging monthly to resolve old outstanding balances
• Prepare and distribute a high volume of 1099s
• Assist with audit and tax preparation, including preparing schedules completely and accurately in advance
• Assist with month end close and other accounting related projects as needed

Who You Are:

• You are highly motivated, detail oriented and organized
• Experience working within the financial services or real estate industry is a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• You are well-versed in Microsoft Excel
• You can communicate effectively with coworkers and clients alike
• You are a true professional and have the ability to interact with all members of the organization, including senior executives
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience using Oracle Fusion is a plus
