Position Summary:

You’ll join our Analytics team, which leverages financial modeling and product expertise to drive decision making and strategy, directly supporting senior leadership. Key responsibilities include analyzing data, presenting recommendations, and leading cross-functional decision-making and implementation.

You will focus on understanding our energy needs via modeling and statistical analysis, selecting optimal electric rates for our sites, and advocating for supportive local and state policies. You’ll also utilize your analytical proficiency to support our broader network planning, market forecasting, and investment activities. Strong financial and energy modeling skills and an understanding of energy markets are essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Use financial and energy modeling to determine optimal electric rates and evaluate proposed rates.
  • Solve complex problems related to electricity rates, cost optimization, and emerging technologies.
  • Distill analyses into clear conclusions, and present findings to senior leadership and policy stakeholders to influence decision-making.
  • Manage rate subscriptions. Identify and implement cost improvements with software
  • Support renewable energy procurement efforts to maintain EVgo’s 100% renewable energy commitment.
  • Research and provide insights on market and industry trends to inform internal projections.
  • Develop statistical and econometric models to forecast demand and shape network planning.
  • Work cross-functionally with other EVgo leaders to identify and understand business risks and opportunities across the country.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Energy, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields from recognized programs.
  • 1-2 years of financial or energy modeling experience.
  • Top-notch Microsoft Excel user; SQL, R, Python proficiency valued.
  • Understanding of electricity rates and energy markets preferred.
  • Skilled at researching, analyzing data and summarizing results into recommendations and reports.
  • Excellent at developing and delivering presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience completing multiple projects concurrently, while adjusting to changing priorities.
  • Skilled at cross-functional collaboration with clients, peers, management, and other departments.
  • Effective resource and project planning, decision-making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
