Position: Controller - rapidly growing startup
Location: West Hollywood, CA
Located near the border of West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, our client is a private equity backed, hyper-growth technology and consumer products company.

As the Controller, you will:
- Lead all Accounting operations and be a key partner to the CFO and the senior leadership team on accounting implications of all key initiatives.
- Manage and ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial-statement close and reporting
- Work with CFO and FP&A to prepare internal and external financial reporting for management team reviews, board meetings, and investor presentations
- Develop and drive strong financial policies, internal controls, procedures, and systems to scale Accounting with business growth, including the discovery and implementation of key ERP, billing, and other systems
- Recruit, develop, and retain a strong Accounting team capable of effectively scaling with the business' growth
- Help manage banking relationships and compliance for any credit facilities
- Partner with the management team on other strategic business initiatives including the evaluation of accounting implications for these decisions
What you’ll bring:
- Hunger and ambition
- 8+ years of professional experience
- A CPA (active or inactive status), and a minimum of three years of public accounting experience followed by progressive levels of responsibility in “in-house” Accounting roles
- Current or recent experience at the Controller or Assistant Controller level
- Experience at a company with tangible products (e.g. CPG, manufacturing, distribution, food and beverage)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting
- Experience in high-velocity startups
- Ability to successfully interact with multiple peers and organizations across this creative and entrepreneurial company
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong experience with Excel and related tools
- Experience with or exposure to forecasting, budgeting, and variance analyses
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong presentation skills
Compensation:
Base salary up to $180,000, plus equity
