About the role

The BSA/AML Compliance Director will be responsible for the development and execution of the BSA/AML and OFAC compliance program to help our organization prevent and detect financial crimes and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and bank partner requirements. The BSA/AML Compliance Director will have a particular focus on identifying and mitigating money laundering and fraud risks associated with Albert’s products and services, The BSA/AML Compliance Director will partner closely with business leads in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, systems, and controls to identify and manage money laundering and fraud risk.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the continuous evolution of the BSA/AML and OFAC compliance program for the organization, including implementation of policies, procedures, transaction monitoring, data analytics and reporting
  • Work closely with business partners to implement controls to prevent and detect financial crimes and deliver on a roadmap for fraud and money laundering risk mitigation
  • Articulate requirements to automate transaction monitoring mechanisms
  • Analyze customer and transaction level data to identify fraud, red flags or other suspicious activity or patterns and direct actions based on risk thresholds
  • Review KYC alerts (including CIP, OFAC and PEP alerts) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Conduct and document detailed investigations of higher risk fraud and suspicious activity scenarios; escalate and report results to senior management and bank partners
  • Continue to build and maintain our inventory of fraud and suspicious activity rules/scenarios
  • Define and continuously calibrate risk thresholds for customer and transactions for various banking and investing products
  • Conduct fraud and AML risk and controls assessments; work with business partners to implement control enhancements
  • Manage BSA/AML audits and exams
  • Track legal and regulatory developments impacting Albert’s products and services
  • Provide required BSA/AML reporting for bank partners and regulatory agencies
  • Help build a strong culture of compliance across the company

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in BSA/AML and Sanctions compliance and fraud risk management roles, including 3+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • Experience with developing and implementing transaction monitoring requirements, including maintenance of AML and fraud risk rules/scenarios, and risk thresholds
  • Experience in conducting/leading AML and fraud investigations and case management
  • Clear understanding of AML and fraud risk management related regulations (e.g. Bank Secrecy Act, Identity Theft/Red Flags, US Patriot Act, OFAC, FFIEC, FINRA)
  • Experience with AML and fraud data analytics and reporting, and working with business intelligence tools
  • CAMS and/or CFE a plus
