The Accounting Operations Lead will be responsible for day to day accounting operations and building processes and procedures that will help to ensure sound internal financial reporting. This role will also assist with month end closes and quarterly SEC reporting, SOX requirements, and special projects, as they arise.

What You'll Do

  • Drive all necessary financial reconciliation efforts across Dave’s platform of products which includes, but not limited to: processors, Dave’s internal system, Mode reporting, Dave bank, chargebacks, returns, etc.
  • Assist with period-end close processes, including preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Owner of the Equity process, including, reconciling activity, establishing controls, and managing the relationship with the People team and external legal counsel
  • Complete the quarterly and annual GAAP disclosure checklist and other required audit-related checklists
  • Lead and organize the efforts needed for Sarbanes Oxley compliance, including working closely with internal auditors and third parties on walkthroughs, documentation of narratives and performance of the related control procedures
  • Perform the review and documentation of SOC-1 reports on an annual, or as needed basis
  • Function as the primarily point of contact with the external auditors for Sarbanes Oxley compliance
  • Assist with audit requests and work with external auditors to ensure quarterly reviews and the annual audit are completed on a timely basis
  • Owner of the Debt process, including preparation and delivery of all debt compliance reporting and compliance with covenants
  • Function as the project manager for the ERP system implementation
  • Function as the ERP system super-user and responsible for the coordination of the periodic system updates and required user trainings
  • Assist with the public equity platform implementation and process development
  • Assist with system interfacing and data conversion between Workday and NetSuite
  • Manage the compliance with local, state and federal government reporting and tax requirements, including working closely with third-party consultants and responsible for completing various state and local tax and business filings

What You'll Need

  • 8+ years of accounting experience 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License preferred
  • Big 4 audit experience preferred
  • Public company, SEC reporting experience with form 10-K, 10-Q, and Proxy
  • Sarbanes Oxley, experience in preparing risk assessments and performing control related testing and procedures
  • Pre-IPO/IPO readiness experience
