Appetize Technologies, Inc., is seeking a vibrant and enthusiastic professional to join our team as an Accounting Manager. This position will directly report to the Corporate Controller and oversee a team of 4 accountants. 

The Accounting Manager is responsible for supervising the month end close, reviewing all supporting information, the annual audit, the correct implementation of procedures and policies. The ideal candidate must be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and professional work environment, one that demands excellent problem-solving, organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Supervise all aspects of month-end close within the required deadlines and responsible for accuracy of the monthly financial statements
• Review all month end close account reconciliations
• Prepare revenue journal entries for Saas revenue and key Saas reporting for upper management monthly
• Manage a team of 3-4 accounting professionals, including day to day management, talent reviews, and goal setting/development plans
• Oversee AP/expense reports and ensure that all expenses are correctly coded
• Oversee AR and ensure that billings are complete and revenue is accurately recorded 
• Assist with weekly cash forecast
• Supervise inventory management and operations finance (advising on transaction accounting i.e. item costing, receipting, fulfillment, transfer orders)
• Provide support for the annual financial statement audit, as well as periodic internal audits
• Ensure the correct application of accounting standards for Revenue/COGS recognition, with an emphasis on ASC 606
• Prepare reporting to banking institutions on a monthly basis
• Identify and drive process improvement or other projects, in various areas: billing, inventory, revenue etc.
• Other ad-hoc accounting projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in accounting or finance
• 6+ years of accounting experience
• 2+ year of managing professionals
• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
• Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, and superior attention to detail
• A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multi-task, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with inventory and multiple element arrangements revenue
• Strong proficiency in Excel, Salesforce, NetSuite and Docusign experience preferred. 
• Experience in a Start-up environment preferred
