Job Description:

  • Day-to-Day Management: Responsible for the review of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations as well as period end close tasks. Drive process improvement in daily/weekly/monthly tasks for efficiency and scalability.
  • Financial Reporting: Manages, communicates, and continuously improves financial reporting for the company, including understanding + analyzing financial data, managing + improving financial systems for reporting, and developing + presenting accounting insights to leadership.
  • Internal Controls: Implements internal controls over financial reporting, providing input and recommendations given staffing and structure while ensuring compliance with SOX.
  • Annual Audit: Supports the annual audit process with our external auditors.
  • People Leadership: Manages a high-performing team, encouraging collaboration, with a focus on developing and mentoring the team to improve performance and advance their career plans.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, + Other Characteristics Required for Successful Performance:

  • CPA required
  • 6 years’ experience with both public accounting and private company
  • 2 years’ experience leading a team
  • Previous S1/F1/IPO experience strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Knowledge of GAAP and experience working with external auditors
  • Prior experience in a startup environment or a technology company preferred
  • Experienced leading monthly close and defining accounting processes and procedures
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced growing environment
