The Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, ongoing expenses and income as well as other related financial activities.
Responsibilities
- Create ad-hoc reports for various business needs
- Prepare tax documents
- Compile and analyze financial statements
- Manage budgeting and forecasting
- Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization
- Prepare monthly financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements) and reports
- Prepare and track monthly billing, budget analysis, purchase orders, vendor management, and financial requirements
- Perform cost and budget analysis and reports as a basis for cost controlling
- Provide budgeting reporting and job profitability
- Prepare year-end financials
- Maintains the general ledger
- Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
- Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks
- Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts
- Prepare and maintain accurate and timely account reconciliations in QuickBooks Online
- Handle day-to-day accounting functions including AR and AP
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform audit
- Maintains knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required
- 3-5 years of experience required, with at least one year of relevant public accounting experience from a Big 4 accounting firm preferred
- CPA/ CPA Applicant preferred
- Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and periodicals
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
