POSITION SUMMARY
We have partnered with a long-standing nonprofit organization in Downtown Los Angeles (hybrid) to find their next Finance Manager.
The Finance Manager provides strategic financial leadership and oversees budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and internal reporting. This role ensures that senior leadership and department heads have the financial insight needed to support mission-driven operations, exhibitions, programs, membership initiatives, and facilities. The Finance Manager plays a key role in long-term sustainability planning and supports executive decision-making with accurate, data-driven analysis.
What you will do:
- Guide the planning, development, and oversight of the organization’s annual operating and capital budgets.
- Track financial performance against established budgets, highlighting trends, variances, and areas needing deeper review.
- Produce monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for senior leadership and relevant Board committees.
- Prepare and maintain cash flow models to forecast short- and long-term liquidity needs.
- Track grant activity and ensure alignment between internal reporting and funder requirements.
- Prepare project-specific financial reports for interim and final grant submissions.
- Assist with monitoring restricted funds, endowment assets, and other investment-related activity.
- Support the annual audit by preparing schedules, drafting narratives, and reviewing internal financial information.
- Recommend and implement opportunities to streamline workflows, improve reporting accuracy, and enhance financial processes.
