Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Finance Manager to oversee financial planning, budgeting, and analysis for our residential real estate portfolio. This role plays a critical part in driving informed decision-making and maximizing the financial performance of our residential assets. The ideal candidate will have strong financial modeling skills, real estate industry knowledge, and a proactive approach to business partnering with operational teams.

Key Deliverables:

  • Lead the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range planning process for the residential portfolio.

  • Partner with Development, Asset Management, and Operations teams to align financial strategies with business objectives.

  • Build and maintain financial models, project cash flows, IRRs, and ROI analyses for existing communities and new development opportunities.

  • Conduct variance analysis and provide regular reporting on performance against budget/forecast.

  • Manage monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages, including dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Monitor market trends and economic indicators that may impact the residential housing sector.

  • Work closely with accounting to ensure accurate financial records and accruals.

  • Assist with debt/equity financing, due diligence, and investor reporting as needed.

  • Implement process improvements and automation opportunities across financial planning tools and workflows.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with all external sources of capital

  • Prepare financial reports and analysis for Joint Venture Partnerships

  • Support investment committee presentations and decision-making through financial insights and scenario planning.

  • Prepare Pro Forma updates for sales and construction releases.

  • Prepare and submit all Builder Profitability reports to Land Sellers.

  • Manage internal tracking of additional land income from our guest builders.

  • Facilitate collection of audit documentation.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)

  • 5–8 years of experience in financial planning & analysis, preferably within residential real estate, development, or investment management

  • Strong Excel skills and experience with financial modeling and valuation techniques

  • Proficiency in financial systems such as Vena or Newstar is a plus

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to distill complex data for executive audiences

  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail and a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset

  • Candidates should have a fluid understanding of the real estate market.

  • Knowledge of and experience with general accounting principles and financial statement preparation

  • Interest in technology, data visualization tools, and process optimization

  • Base Salary Range: $99,000 - $158,000
