First Entertainment Credit Union is looking for a Finance Manager who will provide broad-based accounting, financial reporting, investment, ALM, budget, forecast, liquidity and analytical support to the VP Finance/CFO.  The Finance Manager analyzes overall portfolio for performance improvement and risk analysis and proactively identifies opportunities for enhancement while balancing risk/reward. They will oversee all accounting entries and associated methodologies related to the Credit Union's investment portfolio, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
 
The ideal candidate will lead the preparation of our annual budget and mid-year forecast processes including defining timelines/deadlines under VP or FO’s direction. They will create meaningful analyses and scenarios to enhance value for our Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Finance Committee & Board of Director's presentations.
 
This is an interim, temporary opportunity at this time. This position is expected to last between 3~4 months. The targeted pay in California is between $55~70 per hour.
 
Responsibilities

·         Provides accurate financial statements and related reports and analysis for management and board committees.
·         Review, analyze, and recommend new investments including portfolio impact (defining risk/rewards) and submits analysis to the VP and CFO for consideration.
·         Create various monthly investment reports/analyses, including summary of monthly activities for Investment Committee.
·         Stay abreast of market/interest rates and other economic conditions impacting current and future portfolio performance.  Maintain high knowledge level of investment options, viability and impact through research and training.
·         Functions as primary liaison with Investment bond accounting vendor. Update all monthly investment activity and reconcile reports/statements to the general ledger timely and accurately for balance sheet certifications.
·         Oversee due diligence on approved brokers, brokerages and Corporate Credit Unions.
·         Support VP and CFO in cash management and liquidity analysis, planning and reporting.
·         Oversee analysis of operational activities and various GL accounts for review by SLT or managers.
·         Review and prepare data for ALM quarterly reporting with a focus on accuracy and enhanced data breakout.
·         Manage the Allowance for Loan Losses (ALL) monthly analysis, including associated reports and validation, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
·         Oversees various analyses and reports, including budget/forecast vs. actual monthly reports, operational & peer analyses and reports and product-related profitability analyses.
·         Evaluate internal processes and assists in identifying areas targeted for improved efficiencies and automation.
·         Manage employee life cycle activities, including hiring, coaching, staff development, feedback and so forth.
·         Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
 
Requirements
 
·         Bachelor's degree or higher preferred in accounting, finance, business administration, or equivalent in related job experience required.
·         Minimum five (5) years of Credit Union or financial institution accounting/finance experience.  Prior management experience strongly preferred.
·         Strong knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices for a financial institution.
·         Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Outlook required.
·         Strong knowledge of financial models for budgeting and interest rate risk purposes.
·         Thorough knowledge of Credit Union products and services, procedures and guidelines, and field of membership requirements.
·         Working knowledge of regulations applicable to essential responsibilities.
·         Ability to read, speak and write clearly to convey information effectively.
·         Effective communication skills across all levels of audience.
