Position Summary

The Field Solutions Engineer (FSE) is a trusted technical expert who plays a pivotal role in the sales process, driving the growth and adoption of Miovision’s Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) solutions. These solutions include advanced traffic signal control, AI-powered video detection, connected vehicle applications, and cloud-based emergency vehicle preemption and priority systems. By bridging the gap between technical capabilities and customer needs, the FSE helps agencies realize the full value of Miovision’s innovative transportation technologies. This role will cover the Western US and involves regular travel within the region.

As a technical industry expert, the FSE integrates into the daily operation of the agency to support complex proof of concepts and ongoing initiatives to maximize product output and value.  The FSE ensures continuous value and product adoption that ultimately drives intersection network and software growth.

Key Accountabilities

Technical consultancy/ Supporting the sales process

The FSE is responsible for learning and understanding the current technical capabilities/systems/tools within the account ecosystem, and identifying and documenting the gaps that exist between the current state and the customer's desired state. This creates a plan of action/recommendations for the agency to successfully move from current state to desired outcome state with support and input from Miovision and Miovision's partners.  Document product/feature needs for product design prioritization. 

Solution scoping and design

The FSE would support solution design, technical documentation and the implementation plan of current desired integrations as set in the account plan. As the account evolves, the FSE would continuously build on possible integration opportunities and scope out any future integrations with the Miovision products and 3rd party systems.   Establish a framework for necessary contributions from various departments and facilitate their collaboration. Work alongside project management teams to successfully monitor progress and implementation of initiatives. 

Pilots and Product Demonstrations

The FSE would design and manage all product demonstrations highlighting the value of all Software and applications. The FSE would also manage all pilot installations and proof of value demonstration.  

Product approval and specification process

With support from the APL team, work to achieve product approvals in assigned territory. In addition, work with customers and prospects to update their ITS specifications to incorporate Miovision Master Specification. 

Complex issue resolution and customer advocacy

The FSE would support the resolution of any complex product issue resulting in prevention of purchase, delayed renewals or potential for churn. The FSE will always act as a customer advocate to ensure an effortless experience in resolving these challenges. The FSE would build a strong relationship between the Miovision product and support teams to ensure continuous resolution of ongoing operational issues as well as product deficiencies that may come up. 

Proof of Value Documentation

Account plans are a recipe for delivering on potential product value as intended. Building success within the key accounts will create many product advocates and champions that can accelerate the creation of case studies and references. These individuals can then be leveraged for webinars and further our account-based marketing program.  

Skills/Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalency or achievement of recognized professional level
  • 8+ years of technical experience; must understand network products
  • Ability to travel internationally, providing on-site consulting work to clients
  • Ability to manage multiple projects utilizing strong planning and organizational skills
  • Experience with general consulting skills that include team facilitation, business case development, strong business analysis skills, process mapping and process redesign
  • Systems implementation skills: requirements/process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, configuration, testing, training, change management and support
  • Analytical nature with the ability to solve complex business issues
  • Basic understanding of product development and engineering processes. 
  • Membership in Industry Groups (IMSA/ITSA/ITE/etc) preferred as well as relevant industry Certifications
