About the Position: Reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing, the Field Marketing Contractor is responsible for designing and executing high-impact field marketing events and promotional programs that accelerate pipeline growth and deepen relationships with business and technical leaders at fast-growing ISOs, ISVs and FIs. This temporary contract role requires this professional to work full-time from the Calabasas, CA office, travel up to 30% and has a strong potential for full-time conversion. You’ll partner closely with Senior Marketers, a Graphic Designer, Senior Business Development Managers, Relationship Managers, Product, and other cross-functional peers and outside vendors to deliver events, from intimate executive roadshow experiences to large-scale conference activations and integrated marketing programs to demonstrate Maverick’s value as the full-service payments provider of choice for growing sales organizations looking effectively monetize payments. As a Field Marketing Contractor, you’ll play a crucial role by bridging sales, product, and marketing, designing and launching hands-on events, and supporting promotional campaigns to generate new opportunities. - Own, support and execute the strategy behind Maverick’s partner-facing and key bi-annual internal events, ensuring event, exhibition and sponsorship successfully meets all KPIs and/or delivers measurable ROI.
- Lead the planning, execution and analysis for 15+ annual events, including industry conferences, partner events, regional roadshows, digital webinars and key internal events or experiences.
- Coordinate with the Associate Director of Marketing, Business Development and Product leadership to plan and refine the annual event strategy, calendar and budget on a quarterly basis or more to ensure all exhibits, entertainment, sponsorship and promotional strategies are aligned with company goals.
- Develop and manage a speaking opportunity calendar, support speaker coordination, develop content submissions, and support session planning where applicable.
- Conduct market research to understand audience needs and preferences, informing event strategy and content development.
- Work directly with Business Development, Partner Relations, Product and Marketing to set clear goals, refine targeting, and track results in CRM.
- Oversee the timely execution of all event logistics, travel team bookings, marketing promotions and ROI tracking against a 30/60/90 day playbook. Design events that feel elevated, thoughtful, and on-brand without breaking budget.
- Drive pre-, during-, and post-event velocity by building automated outreach sequences to drive meeting booked, on-site event participation and nurture leads with various follow-up motions.
- Champion the marketing team’s event program, processes, and policies, serving as an expert to internal teams.
- Fully prepare travel teams by planning travel rearrangements, hosting kickoff and milestone meetings, and providing prep documentation and actions plans well in advance of the event.
- Act as a subject matter expert on Maverick’s products, capable of communicating value propositions both in-person and through digital channels.
- Travel to various events to ensure successful execution by providing or overseeing exhibition setup, vendor and speaker coordination and to capture promotional content.
- Launch post-event surveys in a timely fashion to collect feedback, track opportunities ensuring alignment with company-wide goals.
- Store all planning documents, lists, contracts and invoices with team level visibility.
- Coordinate marketing promotions, booth design or collateral with the Associate Marketing Director, Marketing team, Graphic Designer, Product, Business Development and Admin teams.
- Oversee and manage external vendors for booth design, logistics, AV, shipping, and other event-related services including overseeing display planning, construction, shipping, drayage, and installation.
- Negotiate with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness, provide cost estimates and resource analyses against annual and event-specific budgets.
- Develop and launch multi-channel promotional campaigns to support external events (email, newsletters, LinkedIn, etc.) to drive pre-event awareness, onsite engagement, and post-event follow-up.
- Capture, manage and maintain video footage or still photos of all events and work with a graphic designer to transform it into promotional marketing content.
- Help prepare sales decks, partner presentations, and marketing collateral.
- Present event, speaker, sponsorship and related marketing campaign performance insights to stakeholders and iterate strategy based on lead quality and feedback.
- Compile comprehensive post-event reports for firm leadership, providing actionable recommendations for future engagement and initiatives.
- Track and report event ROI and effectiveness. Measure event and marketing campaign success and ROI through metrics such as leads captured, pipeline influenced, brand lift, and internal and partner satisfaction.
- Manage swag inventory, budget and ordering strategy to support events and internal teams. Coordinating with the Associate Director of Marketing and Admin teams to ensure orders are aligned with department goals.
- Develop and launch multi-channel promotional campaigns and content to support internal events (email, newsletters, LinkedIn, etc.) to drive pre-event awareness, onsite engagement, and post-event follow-up.
- Manage external parties and vendors to support and execute the strategy behind Maverick’s key bi-annual internal events, ensuring the event successfully meets all KPIs and is delivered on-time and underbudget.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in B2B event marketing.
- Proven success managing high-visibility events with complex logistics and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities across stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience managing vendor contracts, renewals and negotiations.
- Excellent attention to detail, proactive communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working cross-functionally with sales, product, and marketing teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience writing customer-facing content.
- Ability to think strategically about audience fit, messaging, and event objectives.
- Ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights.
- Proficiency in integrated marketing and content creation.
