About the Role:

The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for building strong relationships with families, schools, and community stakeholders to promote awareness and understanding of available K-12 education options and scholarship opportunities. This role involves developing and implementing grassroots outreach strategies, organizing events, and providing resources that empower families to make informed decisions about their children's education. This individual will play a key role in connecting families with the information and support they need to navigate the evolving school choice landscape in Texas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Outreach Strategies: Working with the Vice-President of Business Development, the Outreach Coordinator will design and execute a comprehensive outreach plan to raise awareness of various school choice options, as well as scholarship opportunities. This outreach will primarily target families, particularly those in underserved communities.
  • Community Engagement: The Outreach Coordinator will build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations (Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCAs, etc.), private schools, parent groups, faith-based organizations, and other key stakeholders, as well as actively participate in community events and meetings.
  • Event Planning and Execution: The Outreach Coordinator will organize and facilitate informational meetings, workshops, and school fairs in key locations to educate families about school choice programs and scholarship application processes.
  • Resource Development and Dissemination: Working with the Marketing team, the Outreach Coordinator will create and distribute informational materials (e.g., brochures, flyers, website content, social media posts) about school choice options, application deadlines, and available support resources.
  • Data Collection and Reporting: The Outreach Coordinator will track outreach activities, collect data on family engagement, and prepare regular reports on effectiveness and impact, as well as analyze data to refine outreach strategies and improve the outcome of outreach efforts.
  • Collaboration and Communication: The Outreach Coordinator will work closely with other team members, school representatives, and community partners to ensure coordinated and effective outreach efforts.
  • Relationship Building: The Outreach Coordinator will establish and nurture relationships with families, providing personalized support and guidance as they explore school options.
  • Advocacy and Support: The Outreach Coordinator will work closely with the state team (State Director, Director of Government Relations) to advocate for policies and practices that support family choice and access to quality education.
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Passion for education and empowering families
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in community outreach, family engagement, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful outreach strategies
  • Strong understanding of the school choice landscape in Texas and different educational options
  • Excellent communication, presentation skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
  • Experience working with underserved communities preferred
  • Experience in Program Administration preferred
