Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Facilities Plant Engineer - Civil/Structural (Level 3 or 4) to support the Facilities Maintenance team onsite in Portland, Oregon.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide structural engineering support for the manufacturing operations, including new construction projects, existing building modifications, bridge cranes support structures, and machine foundations.
- Develops moderately complex conceptual designs, final designs, cost estimates and provides maintenance support for the civil/structural phases of buildings, equipment installations, utility systems and grounds
- Reviews civil/structural designs to assess compliance with customer requirements, building codes and applicable regulations by applying knowledge of construction principles, practices, and materials
- Plan, manage, and execute facility engineering and construction projects, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and communication of project status and performance.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design efforts by integrating internal engineering teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to translate customer requirements into compliant design solutions.
- Develop and review engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, design documents, and permit packages to ensure alignment with project objectives and facility standards.
- Manage contractor and supplier performance, including supporting vendor selection, reviewing proposals, defining scopes of work, and ensuring compliance with contract obligations.
- Ensure regulatory and jurisdictional compliance by supporting permitting activities, coordinating with government agencies, and verifying that construction documentation and design changes meet applicable standards.
- Maintain accurate project and facility documentation, including drawing archives, contractor redlines, and records required for regulatory and internal compliance.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience using AutoCAD (or similar CAD package)
- 3+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design)
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
- 3+ years of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or manufacturing environment
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 2+ years of experience supporting machine foundation design and construction requirements and/or bridge cranes and crane infrastructure requirements
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Level 4: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
