he Warehouse Automation Project Engineer will oversee the end-to-end design, execution, and commissioning of advanced warehouse automation projects. The ideal candidate will bring extensive hands-on experience with SCADA and DCS systems, along with proven expertise in Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Automatic Material Handling Systems, and Carousel Systems. This role demands strong leadership in project execution, system integration, and cross-functional collaboration to drive operational excellence and technological advancement within warehouse and intralogistics environments.
Key Responsibilities:• Lead automation projects from concept design through commissioning, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.• Develop system architecture, control philosophy, and functional design documents for ASRS, AGVs, and automated material handling systems.• Configure, integrate, and maintain SCADA and DCS systems for real-time monitoring and process optimization.• Provide technical direction and support during installation, testing, commissioning, and handover phases.• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including OEMs, system integrators, and plant operations teams.• Conduct performance validation, FAT/SAT, and ensure systems meet all safety and operational standards.• Troubleshoot complex automation issues involving PLCs, communication networks, and motion control systems.• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance reliability, throughput, and energy efficiency.• Prepare detailed project documentation, technical reports, and training materials for end-users and maintenance teams.• Ensure compliance with industrial safety norms and automation standards (IEC, ISO, OSHA).
Qualifications:• Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation and control engineering.• Preferred: Postgraduate qualification or certifications in Industrial Automation, Robotics, or Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
Experience:• Minimum 10-12 years of experience in Warehouse Automation, Industrial Automation, or Intralogistics Project Engineering.• Proven track record of handling large-scale automation projects involving SCADA, DCS, and automated material handling systems.• Experience working in industries such as semiconductor, automotive, FMCG, or logistics will be advantageous.
Technical Skills Required:• Expertise in SCADA/DCS systems (e.g., Siemens WinCC, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Wonderware, ABB).• Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, or equivalent).• Strong understanding of ASRS, AGVs, Conveyor, and Carousel Systems design, commissioning, and maintenance.• Familiarity with automation network protocols (Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus, OPC).• Knowledge of AutoCAD / EPLAN for system layouts and electrical schematics.• Experience with HMI design, motion control systems, and field instrumentation.• Working knowledge of industrial safety and risk assessment standards.
Soft Skills:• Excellent leadership and project management skills.• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.• Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead multi-disciplinary teams.• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
