Job Description:
BAE Systems is recruiting a customer-facing role at Cherry Point, NC to support the global F-35 Fleet. The F-35 Field Service Engineer candidate is responsible for conducting sustainment operations and assist in problem resolution; data acquisition, data re-grading and distribution; and maintenance assistance to ensure the F-35 is properly supported in the field. This customer-facing role will support the US government end-user customers and industry partners Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Key Responsibilities/Dependencies:

  • Ability to work 1st or 2nd Shift.
  • Conduct sustainment operations and assist in problem resolution
  • Data acquisition
  • Data re-grading and distribution
  • Provide maintenance assistance to ensure that the F-35 is properly supported in the field
  • Provide on-site technical assistance and to elevate the technical skills and abilities of customer personnel who are responsible for the operation and maintenance of their assigned aircraft.
  • Provide technical expertise on operation, maintenance, fault isolation and fault reporting of the aircraft, aircraft subsystems and peculiar support equipment.
  • Support customer requests for on-the-job flight line, in-shop and informal training and instruction on the operation and maintenance of aircraft systems.
  • Provide technical assistance to resolve difficult or unusual maintenance problems associated with the operation of customer aircraft.
  • Initiate and review service trouble reports and publication change reports requiring contractor action.
  • Act as liaison and primary point of contact at the customer site for all technical support issues.
  • Deploy with the military customer in support of operations at home and abroad
  • Utilize knowledge and experience to assist in returning an aircraft to a flyable and mission capable status
  • Travel required based on customer needs.

Experience Required:

  • Previous military fighter/aircraft maintenance experience, F-35 experience a plus
  • Familiar with Development/Operational Flight Test environments
  • Intimate working knowledge of F-35 Fleet Management practices
  • Established and proven knowledge base of tactical aircraft maintenance and technical publications
  • Ability to work independently in a high stress environment to meet customer needs and expectations at short notice
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings/blueprints in additional to technical specifications
  • Working in a highly complex and politically sensitive environment
  • Superior organization skills a must
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) are required both internally and externally
  • Able to perform at a high level in executive meetings involving customer and LM leadership
  • Customer relationship management
  • Self-starter and capable of working independently with minimal guidance
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Products; Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, etc.
  • Highly proficient in PDM, VAS, JEDI
  • Familiar working with Action Requests (ARs) via the Customer Relationship Management Tool (CRM)


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Education:

  • High School Diploma, or 14 or more years equivalent experience/combined education
  • Associate Degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or 10 or more years equivalent experience/combined education
  • Bachelor degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or 8 years equivalent experience/combined education
  • Master Degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or 6 years equivalent experience/combined education


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $94728 - $161038
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
