The Export Compliance Manager ensures adherence to export laws and regulations while collaborating with internal teams to enhance communication and development. Responsibilities include managing service delivery, nurturing client relationships, identifying business opportunities for revenue growth, and maintaining compliance and profitability in operations. The role requires innovative problem-solving, project facilitation, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A background in TSA cargo security, logistics is required, and experience in supply chain management and previous leadership experience and comfort with technology to streamline operations is highly preferred. - Ensure that operations are conducted within established timeframes and comply with corporate governance standards, as well as the U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), Office of ·Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Customs, and all other relevant export governing agencies' rules and regulations.
- This role serves as the primary liaison with government agencies and manages enforcement mitigation efforts.
- Develop, implement, and maintain export policies and procedures.
- Proactively seek process improvement measures to streamline operations while maintaining compliance with regulations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing customer needs, resolving issues, maintaining communication with regular clients, and ensuring timely deliveries.
- Assist with business development efforts, including client visits when necessary.
- With a continued focus on innovation and process improvement, establish standards and procedures to ensure that export filings, client billings, and overall operations are consistent, accurate, and timely.
- Perform audits and reviews of all export filings and ensure compliance with all export regulatory requirements.
- Stay informed about evolving regulatory requirements and share relevant information with team members and/or clients.
- May be responsible for specific tasks such as reviewing export filings and documentation before Customs submission.
- Foster an environment that motivates team members to enhance their performance and professional development by hiring qualified colleagues, providing ongoing training, and conducting effective coaching.
