Who we are

Typeform is a refreshingly different form builder. We help over 150,000 businesses collect the data they need with forms, surveys, and quizzes that people enjoy. Designed to look striking and feel effortless to fill out, Typeform drives 500 million responses every year—and integrates with essential tools like Slack, Zapier, and Hubspot.

About the role

We’re looking for an Expert Lifecycle Marketing Strategist to elevate how we engage and grow our user base—especially through in-app experiences. While our email lifecycle programs are well-established, in-app messaging remains an untapped growth lever. This role will own the strategy and execution of lifecycle campaigns across channels, with a strong focus on building and scaling in-app messaging into a core driver of activation, expansion, and retention.

You’ll design contextual, personalized campaigns that guide users through every stage of their journey—from onboarding and first conversion to upgrading plans and long-term loyalty. Early on, you’ll focus on launching and iterating in-app campaigns while partnering across Product, Data, PMM, and Design. Over time, you’ll expand into holistic lifecycle orchestration across email, in-app, and beyond.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll not only optimize workflows and run experiments but also define the playbook for how Typeform engages users inside the product.

About the team

The Lifecycle Marketing team ensures our users get the right message at the right time to realize the full value of Typeform. We span acquisition, retention, and expansion to create personalized experiences that drive engagement, revenue growth, and loyalty.

  • Acquisition: Proven campaigns and strong foundations that bring in new users and convert them into paying customers.
  • Expansion: Still in early stages—your chance to build structured programs that encourage upgrades, cross-sells, and higher-tier adoption.
  • In-App: A channel with huge potential. The tools are in place, but the strategy and experimentation roadmap need to be built. You’ll be the one to make in-app a centerpiece of our lifecycle approach.
What you’ll do
  • Build & scale in-app messaging: Design, launch, and iterate campaigns that guide users at critical touchpoints across their journey.
  • Identify growth opportunities: Spot moments for activation, adoption, expansion, and retention—then build campaigns to capture them.
  • Own workflows & segmentation: Enhance automation, targeting logic, and personalization strategies across channels.
  • Run experiments: Plan and execute A/B and multivariate tests to optimize engagement, conversion, and product usage.
  • Measure & report impact: Monitor channel performance, share insights, and influence roadmaps with data-driven recommendations.
  • Orchestrate channels: Align in-app, email, and other owned touchpoints for a consistent, effective lifecycle experience.
  • Partner cross-functionally: Work with Product, PMM, Brand, Content, and Design to deliver contextual, on-brand campaigns.
What you bring
  • Proven experience designing and running lifecycle marketing programs in a B2B SaaS or product-led growth environment.
  • Deep understanding of user segmentation, journey mapping, and personalization tactics.
  • Hands-on experience with marketing automation and in-product messaging platforms (Iterable, Pendo, Appcues, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills with a track record of using data to drive decisions and optimize campaigns.
  • A collaborative, curious mindset—comfortable influencing across teams and balancing quick wins with long-term strategy.

Extra awesome if you have
  • Built expansion or upgrade programs from scratch.
  • Experience scaling in-app messaging into a core growth channel.
  • Familiarity with experimentation frameworks and advanced targeting logic (behavioral, ML-powered).

The range is broad because we tailor total compensation based on your location, experience, education, and skillset.
We also want to ensure equitable pay across the team and alignment with market data — but let us handle those details. We’re committed to clarity and honesty, so feel free to ask us anything along the way.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
