At Gensler, design isn’t just what we do—It’s who we are. Our Brand and Experience Design team is a group of bold, curious creatives who craft experiences that inspire, connect, and perform. We help clients amplify their brand through storytelling, graphics, and spatial design that spark emotion and

impact.

We’re seeking an Experiential Graphic Designer who can think big, design boldly, and execute with craft. You’ll work with global clients to shape brand experiences in the built environment—from immersive graphics to identity systems that transform spaces into stories.

Why Gensler? Here, you’ll find more than projects—you’ll find a platform to grow, explore, and make a real impact. We champion diverse voices, fresh ideas, and design that moves culture forward.

What You Will Do

  • The position is best suited to a designer who is adept at developing creative up-front design concepts, environmental graphics, and experiential identity for physical spaces. You should be able to think creatively and execute on the technical understanding to final production.

  • You have strong interpersonal and communication skills, are well spoken, and have the ability to work well with integrated teams of architects and interior designers.

  • You can communicate ideas clearly in client presentations and to the team

  • You can draw at scale and are comfortable working with architectural documentation, elevations, plans, and shop drawings

  • You are plugged into emerging technologies/industry/design trends and have a desire to share with the team

  • You have a strong work ethic, are flexible, positive, and work well in a fast-paced collaborative team setting

  • You have a portfolio that shows a variety of approaches and specific examples of fully realized and produced projects, and demonstrates your ability to apply a client’s brand and design aesthetic across multiple mediums

  • Your work shows interest in expanding your skillset across design platforms such as the built environment, signage and wayfinding, experiential design, brand design, and digital design

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, Visual Communication, or similar

  • At least 7 years of post-graduate and directly relevant work experience in environmental graphics required

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), CADTools, Microsoft Word, and Excel

  • Revit, Sketch Up, 3D, Motion Graphics, After Effects, and Adobe Premiere skills are a huge advantage

  • Working knowledge of print and production, vendor management

  • Strong sense of materials and fabrication/construction within a built environment

  • Typography and illustration skills a huge plus

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
