Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Marketing & Content Strategist to support marketing efforts, specifically focusing on website content development, SEO, and digital marketing strategy. This role will be instrumental in the ongoing transformation of the brand, with key projects including a content rewrite for an existing website, support for a future website redesign, and SEO-focused content development.

The ideal candidate should be highly experienced in financial services marketing, content strategy, and SEO. This individual must be able to work independently while collaborating with internal stakeholders, including executives, marketing teams, and subject matter experts.
Scope and Duration:
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Contract (6-month minimum)
Hours: 10 hours per week (flexible)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Website Content Development: Rewrite and refine website copy for a subsidiary division focused on community development. This site has already been redesigned but requires a content overhaul to better align with the team’s vision and messaging.
  • SEO Strategy & Execution: Develop an SEO-focused content approach to enhance the bank’s digital presence, including website content, landing pages, and blogs.
  • Marketing Collateral Updates: Refresh in-branch marketing materials, such as rack cards and brochures, while assisting in the shift to more digital-focused marketing strategies.
  • Content Development for Future Website Redesign: While a full website redesign is planned to commence in late-2025 through Q1 2026, the candidate will help lay the groundwork by developing high-quality content in advance of the redesign.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including leadership, retail banking, and community development teams, to ensure messaging is aligned across all platforms.
  • Project Management: Work autonomously while keeping projects on track, meeting deadlines, and ensuring alignment with overall marketing objectives.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, content strategy, or copywriting (preferably in the financial services industry).
  • Proven ability to develop compelling, conversion-focused website content.
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices and digital marketing trends.
  • Experience collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to align messaging and brand identity.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and interface with multiple teams without heavy oversight.
  • Experience managing or contributing to website redesign projects is a plus.
  • Familiarity with financial products, banking industry regulations, and community development initiatives is strongly preferred.
  • Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.

About Our Client:

Our client operates across 19 branch locations in Alabama and Florida (Lower Alabama region). They are in a period of transition, focusing on strengthening their retail banking brand, improving their digital presence, and optimizing their marketing efforts. Their institution has traditionally been strong in commercial banking, agriculture, and government programs, but are now working to establish a more robust marketing and content strategy to support all areas of the business.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
