As a highly skilled and experienced Experience Design Lead at Huge, you will drive the creative output across a range of innovative projects, with a specific focus on digital experiences, and will be the nerve center of our design process.

You will interact with interdisciplinary teams, to guide the team through research, strategy development, concepting, product definition, and design. Also, you will push the work through strong collaboration and challenge the team to think beyond the expected. This is a hands-on role, where you will create designs, personas, sitemaps, and whatever is needed to effectively communicate the team's thinking.

What you’ll be doing.

  • Lead the strategy, design, and delivery of user-centered digital experiences across multiple projects.
  • Drive the overall experience vision, ensuring solutions are intuitive, scalable, and aligned with user needs and business goals.
  • Lead and synthesize user research, market insights, and competitive analysis to inform experience strategy.
  • Translate insights into clear UX artifacts, including user journeys, personas, information architecture, wireframes, and experience frameworks.
  • Wireframe using narrative structures and define rigorous taxonomies and hierarchies, without getting bogged down in final copy production.
  • Design and guide highly interactive and performative experiences, with a strong understanding of how design decisions impact performance, responsiveness, and speed
  • Apply data-driven thinking by translating analytics (e.g. search volume, funnel drop-offs, behavioral data) into actionable design solutions.
  • Ensure high standards of UX quality, usability, accessibility, and consistency across all deliverables.
  • Partner with clients and stakeholders to understand needs, communicate design rationale, and deliver experience-led solutions.

What we’d like to see.

  • 8+ years of experience in experience design and creative leadership roles, preferably within a digital design or product-focused agency.
  • Proven expertise designing and leading large-scale, complex digital experiences from strategy through execution.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating UX thinking, conceptual clarity, and problem-solving skills translated into impactful, user-centered solutions.
  • Experience managing and guiding multidisciplinary teams, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and elevate design craft.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills, with confidence articulating design rationale to clients and senior stakeholders.
  • High proficiency in wireframing, prototyping, and UX design tools, with comfort working across varying levels of fidelity.
  • Experience designing scalable systems and layouts across platforms, devices, and touchpoints.
  • Strong understanding of interaction design, performance considerations, and collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Ability to use data and insights to inform experience decisions and validate design outcomes.
  • Awareness of current UX, design, and technology trends, with curiosity and openness to emerging tools and methodologies.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
