Instrument is a design and technology company. We build brands, products, and experiences that move businesses forward—by making the complex simple.

For over 20 years, we’ve partnered with companies like Google, ServiceNow, Uber, Eventbrite, and ŌURA, helping them navigate change, launch new ideas, and grow with intention.

Our work spans Brand, Marketing, and Product, but what defines us is how we work. We bring strategy, design, and engineering together from the start, moving quickly from idea to execution and refining as we go. We aim to do great work and be great to work with, because both matter.

We’re a collaborative, hands-on team with roots in Portland and New York and a distributed presence across the U.S. and Europe. We build teams around the needs of the work, staying nimble without sacrificing craft.

We value curiosity, perspective, and continuous learning, and we’re committed to building an inclusive environment where people can do their best work.

If that sounds like you, we’d love to meet you.

Instrument is seeking an Executive Producer to lead complex content, campaign, and brand engagements for one of our largest enterprise technology partnerships.

This role is ideal for a seasoned delivery leader who thrives at the intersection of client partnership, operational excellence, and creative execution. You'll oversee the delivery of integrated campaigns and content initiatives, guiding multidisciplinary teams while helping shape how we scale and evolve these services within an established client relationship.

You'll serve as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams alike, balancing creative ambition with practical execution. From proposal development and project planning through delivery and account growth, you'll own the success of engagements while helping define the processes, frameworks, and team structures that support long-term success.

What You'll Do

    • Lead complex, multidisciplinary content and campaign engagements from kickoff through launch
    • Partner closely with Strategy, Creative, Writing, Technology, and Account leadership to shape delivery approaches and team structures
    • Own delivery strategy across projects including staffing plans, budgets, scopes, timelines, forecasts, and operational health
    • Build trusted client relationships through clear communication, proactive leadership, and thoughtful problem solving
    • Navigate difficult client conversations with confidence, protecting team health, timelines, and scope integrity while maintaining strong partnerships
    • Develop proposals, scopes of work, staffing plans, and rate structures for new and expanding initiatives
    • Lead project intake and help define scalable delivery processes for content and campaign-focused workstreams
    • Guide multidisciplinary teams through ambiguity while creating clarity, momentum, and accountability
    • Mentor and support Producers across engagements while contributing to the broader health of the production discipline
    • Collaborate with leadership to expand and evolve client partnerships and service offerings
    •

What You'll Bring

  • Extensive experience leading campaigns, brand and content —such as platforms, tools, or large-scale web applications
  • Strong experience managing enterprise-level clients and large cross-functional teams
  • Proven experience leading campaign, content, and brand initiatives — ideally for technology or B2B-focused clients
  • Experience building and managing retainer-based client relationships and ongoing delivery models
  • Strong operational expertise across budgeting, forecasting, staffing, scoping, and financial management
  • Confidence developing proposals, project plans, and delivery approaches for net-new initiatives
  • Ability to navigate high-pressure client situations with tact, emotional intelligence, and strong communication skills
  • Experience collaborating across Strategy, Creative, Writing, Production, and Technology disciplines
  • Strong understanding of digital production workflows and integrated delivery models
  • Comfort operating autonomously and taking ownership from proposal through execution

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
