Job Description

The Executive Producer – Advertising VFX leads both strategy and execution across the entire project lifecycle—from early business development to planning, production, and final delivery. Actively engaged in sourcing opportunities, collaborating with reps, and building relationships with agencies and brands, this role plays a pivotal part in securing work and setting each project up for success.

From pitch to delivery, the Executive Producer aligns creative intent with production strategy, assigns key talent, and ensures seamless communication between clients, artists, and internal teams. Anchored in the Los Angeles market, the role also contributes to strengthening Rodeo FX’s presence as a trusted creative partner in the global advertising industry.

Key Accountabilities:

Creative Leadership in Visualisation

  • Collaborate closely with the VFX Supervisor and creative teams during the pitch and scoping phases to ensure the right production strategy, scope, and visual direction
  • Lead the packaging and presentation of creative pitches, ensuring that artistic ambition aligns with production realities
  • Ensure alignment between client vision, internal talent, and project execution at every stage of the pipeline

Client & Studio Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for agencies, brands, and external collaborators throughout the lifecycle of each project
  • Cultivate long-term partnerships built on transparency, creative trust, and delivery consistency
  • Represent Rodeo FX in meetings, presentations, industry events, and client-facing opportunities, both locally and globally

Project Oversight & Delivery Excellence

  • Define and manage project schedules, budgets, and delivery milestones, ensuring smooth coordination between departments
  • Assign key talent in collaboration with internal teams; manage artist scheduling through Crew Planning
  • Ensure accurate tracking and visibility through ShotGrid and internal tools; flag and resolve risks or scope changes proactively
  • Conduct post-mortems and implement improvements based on production learnings

Team Leadership & Cross-Studio Collaboration

  • Act as a senior leader within the Advertising team; maintain alignment across studios and project teams
  • Support a healthy, solution-driven team culture; intervene early to resolve issues and ensure alignment with company values
  • Mentor producers on client services, communication strategies, and project ownership
  • Drive collaboration with creative, technical, and production leaders to deliver results at scale

Innovation & Business Growth in the LA Market

  • Work in close collaboration with the Business Development and Marketing teams to identify, shape, and pursue new opportunities in the Los Angeles market
  • Build and maintain a strong network of agency, production, and brand contacts relevant to the advertising landscape
  • Lead or oversee the bidding process and ensure timely, strategic responses to incoming briefs
  • Help position Rodeo FX as a go-to VFX partner through thought leadership, outreach, and pitch impact

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in advertising, post-production, or VFX, with a strong portfolio of client-facing leadership roles
  • Deep knowledge of the Los Angeles advertising ecosystem
  • Proven track record of managing complex VFX projects across creative and production teams
  • Experience with ShotGrid; familiarity with GSuite and Monday is considered an asset
  • Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills
  • Calm under pressure, highly solution-oriented, with a clear sense of priorities and team dynamics
  • Availability for occasional travel as required
