Position Overview
Saylor is seeking an Executive Creative Director to lead and scale our creative vision across a growing portfolio of entertainment and brand clients. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for setting the creative bar, nurturing top talent, driving innovation, and helping grow our agency’s reputation for brave, strategic, and culturally impactful work.
As ECD, you will oversee our creative department—including Creative Directors, editors, producers, art directors, and designers—while partnering closely with Social, Strategy, and Accounts. You’ll help define what “great” looks like at Saylor, ensuring every project is delivered with excellence, integrity, and imagination.
The ideal candidate brings an exceptional creative pedigree, a sharp eye for storytelling across modern platforms, and the leadership skills to inspire and elevate teams across pitches, campaigns, and long-term partnerships.
Location & Salary
This is a full-time, exempt role with a salary of $220,000-$300,000, depending on experience based in Los Angeles. This is a hybrid role.
- Set the creative vision and direction for the agency—elevating the quality, originality, and strategic alignment of all work.
- Lead, grow, and inspire a high-performing team of Creative Directors and creatives across disciplines, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
- Oversee creative development from ideation through execution across social, digital, experiential, branded content, and campaign platforms.
- Partner with department heads to ensure creative solutions are insight-driven, executable, and client-aligned.
- Serve as a lead presenter in key pitches and client meetings—owning the room with clarity, conviction, and charisma.
- Drive new business success by shaping compelling creative responses to RFPs, leading brainstorms, and developing pitch narratives.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients—acting as a trusted advisor and creative champion for their brands.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to evolve and expand our creative offerings—particularly in emerging categories.
- Help position Saylor as a thought leader in social and modern storytelling—contributing to thought pieces, panels, and award submissions.
- Play a critical role in doubling our brand portfolio—bringing a vision and energy that attracts ambitious, culturally relevant work.
- 12+ years in a creative leadership role at top-tier agencies, with a proven track record of award-winning, business-driving work.
- Minimum 3–5 years experience as a Group Creative Director, Executive Creative Director, or equivalent senior creative leadership role.
- Deep understanding of storytelling across social and digital platforms—ideally with entertainment, brand, and content experience.
- Exceptional leadership, mentorship, and team-building abilities.
- Demonstrated success leading pitches and securing new business.
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate insights into creative platforms.
- A dynamic presenter with executive-level client presence.
- Highly collaborative and adaptable, with experience leading cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.
- Access to a network of creative makers to bring on as freelance and/or full-time members of your team.
- Bonus: Passion for or experience with automotive, green energy, or emerging technology clients.
