AE Studio is looking for a sharp, reliable Executive Assistant to support our CEO. This is an in-person role at our Marina del Rey office. You’ll work closely with the CEO, helping him stay focused on AI alignment research and the decisions that only he can make.
The job is to protect his time. That means handling whatever is in the way: correspondence, logistics, scheduling, and research support. At a high standard, without being asked twice. You'll need to understand what we're working on, not just who's on the calendar.
This is a strong fit for someone earlier in their career who's genuinely bought in on AI safety, is exceptionally capable, and is comfortable moving between high-stakes priorities and hands-on logistics without skipping a beat.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESExecutive Support
- Own the CEO’s calendar: scheduling, prioritization, and all the coordination that comes with it
- Handle email correspondence, including drafting and sending on behalf of the CEO
- Coordinate travel: flights, hotels, ground transport, all of it
- Execute logistical requests exactly as described
- Prepare briefing materials ahead of meetings
- Monitor AI alignment, policy, and industry developments and route what’s relevant to the right people
- Notice what’s slipping before it becomes a problem and deal with it
Personal Support
- Help with personal logistics (errands, vendor coordination, household tasks) when they compete with the CEO’s time
- Handle personal travel, reservations, and gifts with the same care as work logistics
- Be reachable outside standard hours when it matters
- Personal information stays personal
What we’re looking for
- Based in or able to commute to Marina del Rey; this role is in-person
- Has a car and a valid driver’s license; local driving is part of the job
- Knowledgeable about AI safety and alignment; ideally connected to the Effective Altruism community or adjacent spaces
- Can talk about these topics credibly with people inside and outside the company
- Fluent with productivity tools and quick to pick up new ones, especially AI tools
- Writes well and can shift tone and depth from a quick Slack to a long research summary
- Detail-oriented to a fault; nothing gets dropped
- Works well without a clear playbook; figures it out and gets it done
- Discreet and genuinely bought in on what we’re building
- Earlier in your career and looking for deep exposure to a fast-moving AI company and a high-trust, high-access role
Compensation
$75,000-$90,000/year
Working at AE means receiving equity in our client projects and in Skunkworks ventures. The equity is priced at $0 when granted for tax reasons, but AE invests millions into these projects. Equity comes from reduced margins on client work and internal funding. You get a real stake in the things you help build.
The longer you stay, the more value you create and the more equity you receive. If you leave on good terms, you can retain 20% of your equity by staying engaged. If you spin out a Skunkworks venture, you retain 100%.
