WatchGuard embraces a Flexible Work Philosophy. Most of our employees can choose to work from the office, at home, or any combination of the two. We’ve built a global workforce of outstanding team members and a flexible culture built on trust, collaboration, and belonging.

This is a remote role, but preference will be given to candidates based in Seattle or on the West Coast due to alignment with executive team time zones and occasional in-person collaboration.

About the Role
WatchGuard is seeking a seasoned, strategic Executive Assistant to the CEO to directly support our CEO and lead our Executive Assistant function across the company. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-growth, high-change environments and has experience supporting C-level executives at fast-paced tech companies.
In addition to serving as a trusted partner to the CEO, you’ll manage and mentor a team of Executive Assistants who support our broader Executive Leadership Team (ELT). You’ll bring structure, collaboration, and best practices to the EA function while ensuring the CEO’s time, energy, and focus are directed toward the highest-impact work. You’ll be prepared to cover for your team and help support other Executives as needed.
Reporting to the CHRO, and as a leader on the People Team, you’ll be exposed to opportunities to help elevate employee engagement, connection, and morale across the company, particularly in ways that help to drive the CEO’s engagement with employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executive Support & Strategic Operations
  • Provide high-level, proactive support to the CEO: calendar management, travel coordination, meeting prep, and communications.
  • Act as a thoughtful liaison between the CEO and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring clarity and follow-through.
  • Prepare executive briefings, board materials, and strategic documentation.
  • In-Person Readiness: Be available as needed to work on-site, sometimes on short notice, to support meetings, prep, and logistics.
  • EA Leadership & Process Excellence
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of Executive Assistants supporting the ELT.
  • Standardize best practices, tools, and collaboration frameworks across the team.
  • Align EA support with organizational growth.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Executive Assistant experience, including a minimum of 2 years supporting a CEO or top-tier executive.
  • Proven leadership of administrative or executive support teams.
  • Experience in high-growth, fast-paced tech environments.
  • Excellent communication, organizational prowess, and executive presence.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 Suite, Teams, Zoom, and task/project tools.
  • Exceptional discretion, judgment, and emotional intelligence.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
  • A high-impact role within a mission-led, fast-growing tech company
  • Opportunities to shape executive operations, team culture, and employee engagement
  • A supportive environment grounded in strong values and positive transformation

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000 USD, exclusive of benefits. This position is also eligible for a bonus of 10% of the base salary. Your base salary compensation will be based on your individual skills, education, and experience. Please keep in mind that the above range is the full base salary range for this role; hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical in order to allow for future salary growth.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
