Come help us improve product quality across Automattic. We’re looking for an Excellence Wrangler to join the QualityOps team. You’ll play a key role in our mission through automated UI testing, test strategy, bug triage, and quality metrics. Your work will directly impact our business results by making sure we’re always focused on the most important issues for our users.
What you'll do:- Test, review, and polish everything. Ensure the highest quality for our products.
- Create and maintain automated tests. Use tools like Playwright to build robust UI tests for high-traffic web applications.
- Advise and collaborate. Work with product development teams to improve their testing strategies and promote a proactive quality mindset.
- Drive continuous improvement. Manage and improve test runners and CI tools related to automated tests.
- Triage and fix issues. Get hands-on with bug fixes, prioritizing the highest-impact issues.
- A pragmatic problem-solver who communicates clearly.
- Experience with UI functional testing tools, particularly Playwright.
- Comfortable with CLI/shell scripting, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
- Familiar with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or TeamCity.
- Excited about the potential of AI-powered tools to improve testing and triage.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Experience with component testing frameworks like Storybook or Chromatic.
- Familiarity with a variety of testing types: APIs, security, performance, accessibility, fuzzing/chaos, or mobile apps.
- Experience with WordPress, PHP, and MySQL.
- Applied AI/ML for bug triage or test automation.
Salary range: $85,000-$150,000 USD. Please note that salary ranges are global, regardless of location, and we pay in local currency.
