Executive Vice President, Global Brand Partnerships & Promotions

The Executive Vice President, Global Brand Partnerships & Promotions leads the global promotional partnerships strategy for Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Motion Picture Group, with primary responsibility for the theatrical slate. Reporting to the Head of Global Theatrical Marketing, this role is accountable for architecting and executing innovative, globally scalable promotional strategies that maximize audience reach, cultural impact, and measurable media value for each release.

The EVP serves as the leader of a 15-person team in Culver City and works in close partnership with departments across Marketing to ensure promotional initiatives are fully integrated into the overall theatrical campaign strategy from early development through release.

This executive will play a critical role in shaping the global visibility and cultural footprint of Sony Pictures’ theatrical releases by building innovative partnerships that extend campaign reach, deepen audience engagement, and reinforce the strength of the studio’s IP in the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and lead the worldwide promotional partnerships strategy across the theatrical slate, ensuring alignment with overall marketing objectives and campaign positioning.

  • Identify and secure high-impact global brand alliances that drive incremental media value, audience engagement, and marketplace differentiation.

  • Partner closely with Franchise and IP leadership to ensure promotional programs reinforce long-term brand positioning and franchise continuity.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior studio leadership and filmmakers on the role of promotional partnerships in shaping campaign narrative and audience connection.

Partnership Development & Deal Execution

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with C-level marketing executives across global brands, media companies, and exhibitors.

  • Proactively originate and negotiate domestic and international promotional partnerships, media collaborations, and cinema activations.

  • Oversee the development of compelling pitch materials, including strategic decks, toolkits, retail concepts, and global promotional templates.

  • Ensure best-in-class execution of approved partnership campaigns across all markets in collaboration with Home Office and territory teams, as well as the two international agencies we partner with.

  • Establish consistent global standards for creative approvals, brand integration, and compliance with talent and legal guidelines.

Product Placement Integration

  • Lead the strategic integration of product placement within the marketing organization.

  • Ensure alignment between in-film brand integrations and external promotional partnerships to create cohesive, mutually reinforcing brand strategies.

Global Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a high-performing global team of approximately 15 professionals in Culver City.

  • Foster collaboration across territories to share concepts, relationships, and scalable best practices.

  • Build organizational capability in emerging partnership categories and evolving marketing platforms.

Performance & Measurement

  • Establish clear performance metrics to evaluate promotional effectiveness, media value generation, and strategic impact.

  • Oversee post-campaign analyses and executive reporting that assess overall effectiveness, creative alignment, and market performance.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in global marketing, promotional partnerships, or brand alliances, ideally within entertainment, media, or a major consumer brand environment.

  • Demonstrated success negotiating and executing high-value, multi-market promotional partnerships.

  • Deep understanding of theatrical marketing strategy and the integration of promotional partnerships into full-funnel campaigns.

  • Experience leading and scaling high-performing teams.

  • Strong understanding of media strategy, brand integration, experiential marketing, and emerging promotional channels.

  • Knowledge of international business practices and cultural nuance across global markets.

  • Exceptional executive presence, communication skills, and ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally.

  • Proven ability to balance creative thinking with analytical rigor and measurable results.

  • Highly collaborative leadership style with the ability to operate effectively within a matrixed organization.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $500,000 to $635,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
