What We're Researching

We're running a paid study on how people approach their personal style and daily wardrobe choices. This research helps us understand the factors that drive clothing preferences and routine shopping decisions. We want to hear firsthand about how you organize, evaluate, and refresh your apparel collection.

How It Works

You will join a 60-minute remote video call to discuss your everyday fashion habits. We will ask you to describe your current wardrobe and how you decide what to wear on a given day. You will share your candid thoughts on personal style, clothing maintenance, and how your tastes have evolved. The conversation will focus on your authentic routines without requiring any specialized fashion industry knowledge.

Who This Is For

We welcome everyday consumers who are comfortable discussing their clothing choices and daily style habits. You do not need to be a fashion expert, but you should be prepared to speak openly about your wardrobe. We are interested in diverse perspectives from people who regularly purchase and organize their own apparel.

What You'll Do
  • Join a 60-minute remote video interview

  • Discuss your daily routines for selecting outfits and organizing your closet

  • Share honest feedback on how you develop your personal style over time

  • Walk us through your typical process for evaluating and updating your wardrobe

Who Should Apply
  • Comfortable speaking candidly on a video call

  • Active manager of your own clothing purchases and daily wardrobe

  • Willing to discuss your personal style preferences and habits

Compensation

$200 one-time

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
