The RoleWe are seeking a Sr. Business Systems Engineer to join the EverCommerce Business Operations team. This is a senior technical role focused on our data infrastructure, analytics platforms, and system integrations that power revenue operations across the full customer lifecycle.
You will own the technical architecture for our data and analytics ecosystem—building pipelines, maintaining integrations, and ensuring our BI and product analytics platforms have accurate, timely data. You will work alongside platform engineering teams who manage operational systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, Zuora), focusing your efforts on the data layer that connects and reports on those systems. As a senior member of the team, you will mentor engineers and collaborate with leadership to drive technical excellence.
Our Technology EcosystemYou will architect and maintain our data infrastructure and analytics stack, including:
- Data Warehouse: Snowflake, Redshift
- Data Pipeline & Orchestration: Fivetran (ETL), Hightouch (reverse ETL), dbt (models), Apache Airflow (DAGs & scheduling)
- Analytics & Tracking: Segment (identity graph & tracking protocol), Heap, Fullstory
- BI & Reporting: Omni, Looker, ThoughtSpot, Power BI
- Customer Success Analytics: ChurnZero, Chameleon
You will integrate with (but not administer): Salesforce, HubSpot, Zuora, NetSuite, Limio, and our product platforms (DrChrono, Chameleon, etc.)
Responsibilities- Data Architecture: Own the design and evolution of our data warehouse architecture, ETL/reverse ETL pipelines, and data models that serve analytics and operational use cases
- Pipeline Development: Build and maintain data pipelines using Fivetran, Hightouch, dbt, and Airflow; ensure data quality, freshness, and reliability across the ecosystem
- Integration Engineering: Design and implement integrations between operational systems and our data platform using APIs, webhooks, and ETL patterns
- Analytics Enablement: Partner with business stakeholders to ensure BI platforms (Omni, Looker, etc.) have the data structures and models needed for accurate reporting
- Platform Engineering: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and deployment automation for data infrastructure
- Technical Leadership: Lead design sessions with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and establish best practices for data engineering and testing
- Strategic Partnership: Engage with EverCommerce and subsidiary leadership on data strategy, presenting recommendations and progress through presentations and architecture diagrams
- Quality Assurance: Lead testing for major data releases, develop comprehensive test plans, and drive continuous improvement in data quality
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, business systems engineering, or related technical roles with progressive responsibility
- Strong software engineering foundation: Proficiency in Python and SQL required; experience with additional languages (TypeScript, Go, Ruby) a plus. Comfortable writing production-quality code
- Data engineering expertise: Deep experience with modern data stack tools including dbt, Fivetran, Hightouch (or equivalents), and cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift)
- Analytics platform experience: Experience with product analytics (Segment, Heap, Amplitude) and/or BI tools (Looker, Omni, ThoughtSpot, Power BI)
- API & integration expertise: Strong understanding of REST APIs, OAuth, webhooks, and integration patterns. Experience designing and building enterprise integrations
- DevOps practices: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, git workflows, and automated testing
- Commercial operations domain knowledge: Understanding of lead-to-cash processes and how data flows across CRM, billing, and customer success systems
- Leadership & communication: Proven ability to mentor engineers, lead technical projects, influence senior stakeholders, and translate complex technical concepts for business audiences
- Agile experience: Well-versed in scrum/agile methodologies, including story development, backlog refinement, and cross-functional collaboration
- Experience with Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tools
- Familiarity with Salesforce data model and integration patterns (APEX, SFDX experience a plus)
- Background in healthcare technology or multi-product SaaS environments
- Experience with customer success platforms (ChurnZero, Gainsight)
- Experience building data products that serve reverse ETL and audience management use cases
Remote – US or Canada, with 3-5 weeks of travel annually. The EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia. This role can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada. Please note that you must be eligible to work without sponsorship to qualify for this position, and this role may require travel to our Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, or to other office locations around North America.

Compensation:
EverCommerce is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $175,000 USD Per Year. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline and combines all of the distinct labor markets within the US. EverCommerce considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, candidate’s work location, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, external market data, as well as, market and business considerations when making compensation decisions.
